Willard C. Kruger
Willard Carl Kruger (1910–1984) was an American architect born in Sperry, Texas, who grew up in Raton, New Mexico. (has death date) He founded W. C. Kruger and Associates, which was an American architectural and engineering firm. The firm designed a number of Los Alamos buildings, as part of the Manhattan Project. Kruger graduated with an engineering degree from Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1934, then worked in New Mexico's State Planning division. He served as New Mexico's "State Architect" from 1936 to 1937. Kruger headed the New Mexico state's group of architects within the Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA) New Deal agency, in Santa Fe. Raton ( ) is a city and the county seat of Colfax County, New Mexico, Colfax County in northeastern New Mexico. The city is located just south of Raton Pass. The city is also located about 6.5 miles south of the New Mexico–Colorado border and 85 miles west of Texas. History ''Ratón'' is the Spanish language, Spanish word for mouse. The New Mexico State Capitol, located in Santa Fe at 490 Old Santa Fe Trail, is the seat of government of the U.S. state of New Mexico. It is the only round state capitol in the United States and is known informally as "the Roundhouse". Design The building was designed to resemble the Zia sun symbol when viewed from above, with four entrance wings that protrude from the main cylindrical volume. New Mexico Bank & Trust Building
The New Mexico Bank & Trust Building is a 14-story, office skyscraper on Gold Avenue in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is the sixth-tallest building in the city. When completed in 1961, it surpassed the Simms Building to become the tallest building in the state, and was itself surpassed by the Bank of the West Tower two years later. The building's main 12-story block has black tinted glass curtain walls on the north and south sides, while the windowless east and west sides and the protruding elevator shaft on the south side are faced with brick.
