Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks Women's Ice Hockey
The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks women's ice hockey team is the women's college ice hockey team that represents the Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. The team competes as a member of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA), under the U Sports association. The Golden Hawks play their home games at Sunlife Financial Arena. Since joining the OUA in the 1994–95 season, the team has won 11 OUA provincial titles and 1 U Sports national title (2004–05). The current coach is former New Hampshire Wildcats Hockey East All-Star forward Kelly Paton, who took over in 2018. Also a former player for the Boston Blades, Paton had previously coached the Western Mustangs women's hockey team as well as the London Devilettes of the Provincial Women's Hockey League. Prior to Paton, the head coach was Rick Osborne. Osborne joined the team in 2003 and brought the team to 9 provincial championships and the only national title they have won. The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, commonly shortened to Laurier Golden Hawks, is the name used by the varsity sports teams of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Cindy Eadie
Cindy Eadie (born September 21, 1982 in Brantford, Ontario) is a Canadian former professional softball third baseman and ice hockey goaltender. Eadie began softball at age 5, and has attended Wilfrid Laurier University, where she played three seasons as starting goalie for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks women's ice hockey team and won numerous personal accolades, as well as leading her team to a national championship in 2005. Ashley Stephenson
Ashley Stephenson (born November 22, 1982) is a former two-sport athlete from Ontario who played baseball for Canada women's national baseball team and ice hockey in the original NWHL and the CWHL. She won a silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. Playing career Hockey Stephenson played her university hockey with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks women's ice hockey program from 2000 through 2005. Having won four Ontario University Athletics conference titles (2002, 2004–06), she was part of the Golden Hawks team that claimed the CIS National Championship in 2005. Liz Knox
Elizabeth "Liz" Knox (born June 9, 1988) is a Canadian retired ice hockey goaltender. She ranks second all-time among Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) goaltenders for games played and won the Clarkson Cup in 2017–18 CWHL season, 2018. An outspoken leader among players, she served as chair of the CWHL Player's Association and was a founding board member of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) after the collapse of the CWHL. After her retirement from playing in 2019, she continued to serve as a board member with the PWHPA until resigning in September 2020 to make way for Sarah Nurse. Brampton Thunder
The Markham Thunder was a professional women's ice hockey team in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL). From 1998 through 2017, the franchise was known as the Brampton Thunder and Brampton Canadettes-Thunder before relocating from Brampton, Ontario, to Markham, Ontario, for the 2017–18 season. The CWHL ceased operations in 2019 and no further statements or actions were taken with the franchise.
