Wilfred Johnson
Wilfred "Willie Boy" Johnson (September 29, 1935 – August 29, 1988) was an American mobster and a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) informant from 1966 to 1985. He provided the FBI, who code-named him "Wahoo" because of his Native American heritage, with information relating to John Gotti and other members of the Gambino family. Johnson was a friend of a Gambino crime boss, John Gotti. Early life Johnson was born as one of five children in Canarsie, Brooklyn. Murder, Inc. (Murder, Incorporated) was an organized crime group, active from 1929 to 1941, that acted as the enforcement arm of the National Crime Syndicatea closely connected criminal organization that included the Italian-American Mafia, the Jewish Mob, and other criminal organizations in New York City and elsewhere. The Vario Crew
The Vario Crew, also known as the Canarsie Crew, is a group of Italian-American mobsters within the Lucchese crime family that controls organized crime activities within the New York metropolitan area but has been predominantly based from Brooklyn neighborhoods of Canarsie and Flatlands. Paul Vario
Paul Vario (July 10, 1914 – May 3, 1988) was an American mobster and made man in the Lucchese crime family. Vario was a caporegime and had his own crew of mobsters in Brooklyn, New York. Following the testimony of Henry Hill, Vario was convicted in 1984, of fraud, and sentenced to four years in prison, followed by a conviction for extortion in 1985, and an additional sentence of 10 years in prison. He died on May 3, 1988, of lung failure in prison. He was portrayed as Paul Cicero by Paul Sorvino in the Martin Scorsese film ''Goodfellas''. A caporegime or capodecina, usually shortened to capo or informally referred to as "captain" or "skipper", is a rank used in the Mafia (both the Sicilian Mafia and Italian-American Mafia) for a ''made member'' of an Italian crime family who heads a "crew" of soldiers and has major social status and influence in the organization. In the American and Sicilian Mafia, a made man is a fully initiated member of the Mafia. To become "made", an associate first must be Italian or of Italian descent and sponsored by another made man.
