Plot The short opens in the town of Canasta Flats in 1889 pulling past the Last Chance Saloon and the Next To The Last Chance Saloon and into the Fat Chance Saloon, where the patrons hang out. A mustached cowboy tells his friend that he hears that Yosemite Sam is in town, to which his friend makes up an excuse about leaving a cake in the oven and flees. A card-playing cowboy tells his friend that Yosemite Sam is swinging his fastest gun of the West, to which Injun Joe tells them that that is because Yosemite Sam has never met him. When Yosemite Sam is spotted approaching the saloon, Injun Joe goes out to have a showdown with him, only to be instantly shot off-screen (with a customer gulping down the beer Injun Joe handed him to hold). Yosemite Sam enters the saloon and states who he is, until he ...

Gentlemen's Agreement
A gentlemen's agreement, or gentleman's agreement, is an informal and legally non-binding agreement between two or more parties. It is typically oral, but it may be written or simply understood as part of an unspoken agreement by convention or through mutually-beneficial etiquette. The essence of a gentlemen's agreement is that it relies upon the honor of the parties for its fulfillment, rather than being in any way enforceable. It is distinct from a legal agreement or contract. History The phrase appears in the British parliamentary records in 1821 and in the Massachusetts public records in 1835. The ''Oxford English Dictionary'' cites P. G. Wodehouse's 1929 story collection ''Mr Mulliner Speaking'' as the first appearance of the term. Industry A gentleman's agreement, defined in the early 20th century as "an agreement between gentlemen looking toward the control of prices," was reported by one source to be the loosest form of a "pool." Such agreements have been reported to be ...

Bonanza Bunny
''Bonanza Bunny'' is a 1959 Warner Bros. ''Merrie Melodies'' cartoon directed by Robert McKimson. The short was released on September 5, 1959, and stars Bugs Bunny. In the cartoon, Bugs faces off with the French-Canadian claim jumper Blacque Jacque Shellacque during a fictionalized version of the Klondike Gold Rush. Plot Set in 1896 in Dawson City, Yukon, Canada, Bugs Bunny walks into the saloon with a bag full of gold nuggets. Bugs has no use for these yellow rocks, admitting that he confused "karats" with the vegetable when he traveled to the area (having actually heard about the Klondike Gold Rush). The men in the saloon look suspiciously at Bugs, who requests a glass of carrot juice, to which an eager bartender give Bugs his best serving of carrot juice, complimenting the stone, to which Bugs pays him with it, apparently naive as to what they are. Abruptly, Bugs is almost shot at by a man who identifies himself as Blacque Jacque Shellacque—a criminal wanted for claim-jump ...

Bugs Bunny Rides Again
''Bugs Bunny Rides Again'' is a 1948 Merrie Melodies animated short directed by Friz Freleng. The short was released on June 12, 1948, and stars Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. The animated short is both a Western and a parody of the genre's conventions. Voice characterizations are performed by Mel Blanc. It is the third cartoon to pair Bugs and Yosemite Sam, after '' Hare Trigger'' (1945) and ''Buccaneer Bunny'' (1948). The title is a typical Western reference, as in "The Lone Ranger rides again", and also suggests a reference to the Jack Benny comedy, ''Buck Benny Rides Again'' (1940). Plot Underscored by a high-energy version of "Cheyenne", a constant hail of bullets flies around the Western town of Rising Gorge. A stream of them sail one way along the main street; a traffic light (an Acme Regulator, in keeping with Looney Tunes tradition) turns red and those bullets hover in mid-air while another torrent of them shoot by on the cross street, though they hesitate to resum ...

Hare Trigger
''Hare Trigger'' is a 1945 ''Merrie Melodies'' cartoon directed by Friz Freleng. The cartoon was released on May 5, 1945, and features Bugs Bunny. The short featured the first appearance of Yosemite Sam, as well as the first short to credit (almost) the whole animation staff who worked on the short (previously, shorts credited the director, one animator, writer, musical director and sometimes the voice actor). This short is also the first to use the shortened version of "Merrily We Roll Along" that played from 1945 to 1955. The title is a play on "hair trigger", referring to any weapon or other device with a sensitive trigger. Plot After opening credits underscored by a lively instrumental of "Cheyenne", an old-fashioned 2-4-0 train is seen rolling along through the desert. It passes another train going around a utility pole, and voices are heard repeating " Bread and Butter" with the engine blowing its whistle to the tune "Yankee Doodle". Bugs is riding in the mail car of a t ...
