Wild Seed (album)
''Wild Seed'' is the second studio album and first English-language album by Norwegian pop singer Morten Harket. The album was released on 4 September 1995 through Warner Bros. Records. After a-ha went on a hiatus in 1994, Harket began recording ''Wild Seed'' with British record producer Christopher Neil, who previously worked with the band on their fourth studio album, ''East of the Sun, West of the Moon'' (1990). ''Wild Seed'' charted at number one in Norway and at number 89 in the United Kingdom. It has since sold 160.000 copies in Norway. Critical reception Upon its release, Caroline Sullivan of ''The Guardian'' commented, "The A-ha frontman's solo debut reveals that, all this time, a poet's soul dwelt beneath that camera-pleasing exterior. Morten Harket
Morten Harket () (born September 14, 1959) is a Norwegian vocalist and songwriter, who is the lead singer of the synthpop/rock band A-ha. A-ha has released 10 studio albums to date, and topped the charts internationally after their breakthrough hit "Take On Me" in 1985. Harket has also released six solo albums. Before joining a-ha in 1982, Harket had appeared on the Oslo club scene as the singer for blues outfit Souldier Blue. Harket was named a Knight First Class of the Order of St. Olav by King Harald for his services to Norwegian music and his international success. A-ha (usually stylised as ''a-''h''a''; ) is a Norwegian synth-pop band formed in Oslo in 1982. Founded by Paul Waaktaar-Savoy (guitars and vocals), Magne Furuholmen (keyboards, guitars and vocals), and Morten Harket (lead vocals), the band rose to fame during the mid-1980s. Håvard Rem (born 7 February 1959, Oslo) is a Norwegian poet. Lyrics and poetry Rem made his book debut in 1977 with ''Kall på heltene'', a collection of poetry. His ''Selected Poems'' has been published in Norwegian (1996), Arabic (2000), Russian (2002), Italian (2011) and Japanese (2015). Wham! (briefly known in the US as Wham! U.K.) were an English pop duo formed in Bushey in 1981. The duo consisted of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Nicknamed the ''Indy'', it began as a broadsheet and changed to tabloid format in 2003. The last printed edition was published on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition. The British Newspaper Archive web site provides access to searchable digitized archives of British and Irish newspapers. It was launched in November 2011. History The British Library Newspapers section was based in Colindale in north London, until 2013, and is now divided between the St Pancras and Boston Spa sites. The library has an almost complete collection of British and Irish newspapers since 1840. This is partly because of the legal deposit legislation of 1869, which required newspapers to supply a copy of each edition of a newspaper to the library. London editions of national daily and Sunday newspapers are complete back to 1801.
