Wild Rags
Wild Rags Records was a record label and store in Montebello, California. It was founded in the 1980s by Ricardo Campos. Though Wild Rags started out as a record store in East LA releasing cassette from bands such as Cherry Street, the zine later distributed influential releases by the likes of Nuclear Death, Impetigo, Brutality, Blood, Sigh, Blasphemy as well as Necrophobic, Nuctemeron, and Extreme Smoke. Richard C would later concentrate on distributing Brazilian heavy metal and selling catalogues. Blasphemy (band)
Blasphemy are a Canadian black metal band based in Vancouver, British Columbia. History Blasphemy formed in 1984. The band released a demo titled ''Blood Upon the Altar'' in 1989 and their debut album, '' Fallen Angel of Doom'', the following year through Wild Rags, a record label they had signed to while touring the United States. Their second full-length studio album was the 1993 '' Gods of War'' released through Osmose Productions. In 1993, Blasphemy also took part in the "Fuck Christ Tour" and toured through Europe with Immortal and Rotting Christ. Blasphemy was then inactive for several years. Ryan Förster joined the band in 1999. The band's July 2001 concert in Vancouver was released as a live album titled ''Live Ritual – Friday the 13th'' in 2002. They were inactive again until 2009, when they played two concerts; one in Montreal and one in Helsinki, in the Black Flames of Blasphemy festival, with Proclamation, Black Witchery, Revenge and Archgoat. Extreme Smoke
Extreme Smoke 57 are known as the first grindcore band from Slovenia. The band was formed in early 1990 in the city of Nova Gorica. Their influences include bands such as Napalm Death, Sore Throat, Fear of God, Seven Minutes of Nausea and Agathocles. Band members have played in different grindcore/noisecore/ crust/drone/hardcore acts like Patareni, Deeper Than World, Cadlag, PureH, Mozak, Panic Overdose, Absent Minded, Ear Slaughter, Diarrhoea, Strobodeath and Psihoza. Extreme Smoke 57 split in 1992, but reformed in 2008. Since their reunion the band has performed on some well-known European music festivals such as Metaldays, Obscene Extreme, EXIT and Punk Rock holiday. Necrophobic (band)
Necrophobic is a Swedish blackened death metal band. History The band was formed in 1989 by drummer Joakim Sterner and now-deceased guitarist David Parland. It is believed that the band named themselves after a Slayer song from the 1986 seminal album ''Reign in Blood''. The pair played with a 'revolving door' lineup of musicians until the permanent addition of bassist Tobias Sidegård. This addition occurred prior to recording their debut 7-inch single, ''The Call'', in early 1992. With this lineup and the addition of Anders Strokirk on vocals, who replaced Stefan Harrvik (who had sung on the ''Unholy Prophecies'' demo and ''The Call'' 7-inch EP), the band entered Sunlight Studio in March 1993 and recorded their debut album ''The Nocturnal Silence''. is a Japanese experimental metal band from Tokyo, formed in 1989. They gradually shifted from a traditional extreme metal sound to a more experimental, avant-garde style employing symphonic, world music, and progressive elements. Their most recent album, ''Shiki'', was released in 2022. History Sigh was founded as a Nordic-influenced black metal band in 1989, with bassist/vocalist/keyboardist Mirai Kawashima, guitarist Satoshi Fujinami, and drummer Kazuki.
