''Wild Heart'' is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Samantha Fish. It was released on June 14, 2015. The album was produced by Luther Dickinson. It was recorded at Blade Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana, with additional recordings at Ardent Studios, Zebra Ranch and Royal Recording Studios, Memphis. Critical reception Marty Guntar writing for ''Blues Blast Magazine'' described it as having a "superstar lineup" and that "the end product is head-and-shoulders her best", stating that he "Highly recommended" the album. Bill Brownlee writing for NPR in Kansas City wrote positively about the album, describing the songs as "sturdy" while praising Fish's guitar work and vocal strength. He also praised the production work of Luthar Dickinson noting that Luthar gave the band a "house-rocking sound". Samantha Fish
Samantha Fish (born January 30, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Kansas City, Missouri. While often cited as a blues artist, Fish's albums and live shows feature multiple genres, including rock, country, funk, bluegrass and ballads. Her elder sister, Amanda Fish, is a fellow singer-songwriter, recording for VizzTone Records. Early life and education Samantha Fish grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and started out playing the drums, but when she was 15 she switched to guitar. Fish's mother was the instructor in a local church choir and her father played guitar with friends. Initially hearing recordings of Bonnie Raitt and Stevie Ray Vaughan, she later heard music from Tom Petty and The Rolling Stones and cites the Stones' album ''Sticky Fingers'' as an influential moment. Luther Andrews Dickinson (born January 18, 1973) is the lead guitarist and vocalist for the North Mississippi Allstars and the son of record producer Jim Dickinson. He is also known for being the lead guitarist for The Black Crowes. He hosts ''Guitar Xpress'' on the Video on Demand network Mag Rack. Jim McCormick is a Grammy- and CMA-nominated, multiplatinum-selling songwriter. He is currently a staff writer at Eclipse Music Publishing. Charley Patton
Charley Patton (April 1891 (probable) – April 28, 1934), also known as Charlie Patton, was an American Delta blues musician and songwriter. Considered by many to be the "Father of the Delta Blues", he created an enduring body of American music and inspired most Delta blues musicians. The musicologist Robert Palmer considered him one of the most important American musicians of the twentieth century. Patton (who was well educated by the standards of his time) spelled his name ''Charlie'', but many sources, including record labels and his gravestone, use the spelling ''Charley''. Junior Kimbrough
David "Junior" Kimbrough (July 28, 1930 – January 17, 1998) was an American blues musician. His best-known works are "Keep Your Hands off Her" and "All Night Long". Early life Kimbrough was born in Hudsonville, Mississippi, and lived in the north Mississippi hill country near Holly Springs. His father, a barber, played the guitar, and Junior picked his guitar as a child. He was apparently influenced by the guitarists Lightnin' Hopkins, Mississippi Fred McDowell and Eli Green. Career In the late 1950s Kimbrough began playing the guitar in his own style, using mid-tempo rhythms and a steady drone played with his thumb on the bass strings. Brady L Blade Jr. (born 1965 in Shreveport, Louisiana) is an American rock, pop and country drummer, record producer and composer, who currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden. He is the son of Dorothy and Pastor Brady Blade Sr. (Pastor of the Zion Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana). His brother is jazz drummer Brian Blade. Shardé Thomas (born January 1990, Mississippi, United States) is an American fife player in the vanishing American fife and drum blues tradition. She is the granddaughter of Othar Turner, who founded the Rising Star Fife and Drum Band, and cousin to bandmate Andre Turner Evans. She plays a homemade cane fife. Career Martin Scorsese featured her grandfather, Othar Turner, in the 2003 PBS mini-series, ''The Blues'', as a link between African rhythms and American blues.
