	Wigan Riversiders Wigan Riversiders are a rugby league team based in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England. The first team play in the North West Premier division of the Rugby League Conference; the second team play in the North West regional division under the name Wigan Riversiders Eels; and the third play in the North West Merit League. History ''Wigan Riversiders'' joined the RL Merit League for the 2008 season. They finished third in the table and beat Nottingham Outlaws A 48-4 to reach the grand final, where they were beaten by Moorends-Thorne Maurauders A. Wigan Riversiders joined the Rugby League Conference in 2009 joining the North West Premier division. 	RL Merit League The Midlands Merit League, was a summer rugby league tournament in England held between 2006 and 2009. It was a feeder league to the Rugby League Conference and had a season that ran from April to August. In its last season of 2009, it was also known as the RL Merit League. It was superseded by the Midlands Rugby League, Yorkshire & Humber Merit League and North West Merit League. History The league was founded as the ''Midlands Merit League'' in late 2005 to support the growth of rugby league in non-heartland areas. 	Moorends-Thorne Marauders RLFC Moorends-Thorne Marauders RLFC is a rugby league club based in Thorne, Doncaster, South Yorkshire. They play in the Yorkshire Premier of the Rugby League Conference during the summer and in the Premier Division of the CMS Yorkshire league during the winter. They also have an A_team in the Yorkshire & Humber Merit League. Two cultures come together In 2003 the amateur game in the North East of Doncaster was dying slowly, a few ex-Moorends ARLFC players and committee men got together to form Thorne Moor Marauders to play in the RLC. In preparation for the 2004 season, they targeted local soccer and rugby union players and soon had a squad of over 40 players training - including 7 Moorends and 2 Doncaster Toll Bar amateur players. 	Nottingham Outlaws (rugby League Team) Nottingham Outlaws are a rugby league club from the city of Nottingham, England. They were founded in 1999 and their first team plays in the Premier Division of the Yorkshire Men's League. They have a junior section and in 2006 launched an academy team. 	Rugby League Conference The Rugby League Conference (RLC) (also known as the Co-operative Rugby League Conference as a result of sponsorship from The Co-operative Group), was a series of regionally based divisions of amateur rugby league teams spread throughout England, Scotland and Wales. The RLC was founded as the 10-team Southern Conference League in 1997, with teams from the southern midlands and the south east, but has subsequently, rebranded and expanded both geographically and numerically to include around 90 teams stretched across almost the whole of Great Britain from Aberdeen in northern Scotland down to Plymouth on the south coast of England. The aim of the RLC was initially to provide regular fixtures for new clubs based outside the 'heartland' of rugby league, although as the playing standards increased, it also accepted teams from the 'heartlands'.
