Wiesenbach is a municipality in the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis in Baden-Württemberg. Geography The town sits on the L 532/ B 45, between the heights of the Odenwald and the hills of the Kraichgau about 127 to 327 meters above sea-level. Rhein-Neckar-Kreis
The Rhein-Neckar-Kreis is a district in the northwest of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The administrative headquarters are based in the city Heidelberg, which is a district-free city. As of 2019, the district is the most populous in Baden-Württemberg. History The district was created in 1973 by merging the previous districts of Heidelberg, Mannheim and Sinsheim. Geography The district is named after the two main rivers which flow through the district, the Rhine and Neckar. The highest elevation is 580 m near the 584 m tall peak of the Odenwald mountain Stiefelhöhe, located near Heiligkreuzsteinach. Odenwald
The Odenwald () is a low mountain range in the German states of Hesse, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Location The Odenwald is located between the Upper Rhine Plain with the Bergstraße and the ''Hessisches Ried'' (the northeastern section of the Rhine rift) to the west, the Main and the Bauland (a mostly unwooded area with good soils) to the east, the Hanau-Seligenstadt Basin – a subbasin of the Upper Rhine Rift Valley in the Rhine-Main Lowlands – to the north and the Kraichgau to the south. Kraichgau
The Kraichgau () is a hilly region in Baden-Württemberg, southwestern Germany. It is bordered by the Odenwald and the Neckar to the North, the Black Forest to the South, and the Upper Rhine Plain to the West. To the east, its boundary is considered to be the Stromberg and the Heuchelberg. The largest towns of the Kraichgau are Sinsheim, Eppingen, and Bretten. On the western end of the Kraichgau is the town of Bruchsal, the gateway to the Rhineland plains. Origins of the name The word "Kraich" apparently arose from the Celtic word "Creuch," meaning "mud" or "loam." The territory of a Gau (country subdivision) signifies an open area, free from woods, such as farmland or meadows. The area of Kraichgau was first mentioned in the Early Middle Ages, in the Lorsch codex, as "Creichgowe" in the year 769. In 773, it was called "Chrehgauui," in 778 "Craichgoia." Wolfgang Maria Ohlhäuser
Wolfgang Maria Ohlhäuser (6 December 1941 in Stuttgart, Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt) is a German painter. Life and work Wolfgang Ohlhäuser is a son of the sculptor Walter Ohlhäuser and his wife Helene (née Deichmann). From 1956 to 1959 he trained as a graphic artist. In 1967 he became a freelance graphic artist in Mannheim. Since 1973 he lived in the Heidelberg area. In 1975 he began as an art painter and specialized in the old-master painting techniques resin oil glaze and egg tempera. At the UNESO-Sopot-Gdansk Festival of Fine Artists in 1978, Ohlhäuser received the bronze medal. In 1982 he received a scholarship from the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg. Since 1993 until 2020, he has had teaching assignments every year, some several times, at art academies and universities in Nepal and Thailand, such as Tribuhvan University in Kathmandu-Nepal, the College of Fine Arts in Ladkrabang-Bangkok and the Department of Fine Arts in Phuttamonthon-Bangkok.
