RTS Widzew Łódź () is a Polish football club based in Łódź. The club was founded in 1910. Its official colours are red and white, hence their nicknames ''Czerwona Armia'' (Red Army) and ''Czerwono-biało-czerwoni'' (Red-white-reds). History The club was founded in 1910 as ''Towarzystwo Miłośników Rozwoju Fizycznego Widzew (Society of Physical Development Fans Widzew)''. Its name comes from the name of the city district Widzew, while RTS stands for Workers' Sports Association (in Polish ''Robotnicze Towarzystwo Sportowe''). The club was founded by Polish workers and German industrialists who were employees of the Widzew textile manufactory called WIMA. Stadion Miejski Widzewa (Łódź)
The Stadion Miejski Widzewa Łódź (''Widzew Łódź Municipal Stadium''), also known as Stadion Widzewa (''Widzew Stadium''), is a football stadium in Łódź, Poland. It is the home stadium of Widzew Łódź. The stadium has an all-seater capacity of about 18,000. The previous stadium has a capacity of 10,500 seats, with only part of the West Stand covered. It was demolished in early 2015 to make way for the new stadium. Redevelopment 2015 After many proposals over the years and speculation about a replacement for Widzew Stadium (including for UEFA Euro 2012), a definitive redevelopment was started in 2014. Until the stadium was completed Widzew played their home games at Piotrków Trybunalski. In October 2014 plans for a new 18,018 seater stadium were announced. II liga (Druga Liga, ), currently named eWinner II liga due to sponsorship reasons by eWinner, is a Polish football league that sits at the third tier of the Polish football league system. Until the end of the 2007–08 season ''II Liga'' referred to a league at the 2nd tier, although this changed with the formation of the Ekstraklasa as the top level league in Poland.
