Widad Hamdi
Widad Hamdi ( ar, وداد حمدى) was an Egyptian actress. She starred in over 600 films during her lifetime, and almost all her roles were as a servant or maid. Early life and career Hamdi was born on March 7, 1924, in Kafr El-Sheikh, Egypt. She studied at the Institute of Representation and graduated after two years. Hamdi started her career as a singer. Her first film was Henry Barakat's ''This Was My Father's Crime'' (1945). She worked with the Egyptian National Troupe on several plays. Hamdi retired in the sixties but was called out of retirement to work on the play ''Tamr Henna''. Hamdi was married 3 times, to composer Muhammad al-Mougy and actors Salaah Kabeel and Muhammad al-Toukhy. Death Hamdi was killed in 1994. She was stabbed 35 times in the neck, chest, and abdomen. Her killer was convicted and later, executed. She died with very little money to her name. Kafr El-Sheikh
Kafr El Sheikh ( arz, كفر الشيخ ) is an Egyptian city and the capital of Kafr El Sheikh Governorate, Egypt, about 134 km north of Cairo, in the Nile Delta of lower Egypt. As of November 2006, the town had a population of around 500,000. Kafr El Sheikh was earlier known as Duminqun (), but was officially named Fuadiyah or Fouadiyah ( ar, فؤادية) in honour of King Fuad I of Egypt. After the 1952 Revolution and the subsequent abolition of the monarchy, the governorate took the name of its capital city Kafr El Sheikh. This name, adopted in 1955, means "the village of the chief". Soft Hands ( ar, الأيدي الناعمة, translit.''al-aydi al-nā'ima'') is a 1963 Egyptian comedy film directed by Mahmoud Zulfikar. It is based on a play of the same name by Egyptian playwright Tawfiq al-Hakim (1953).
