Robert Wickens
Robert Tyler Wickens (born March 13, 1989) is a Canadian racing driver from Guelph, Ontario, driving in the Michelin Pilot Challenge for Bryan Herta Autosport. In 2009 he finished in second place in the FIA Formula Two Championship, and in 2010 he was runner-up in the GP3 Series. In his return to Formula Renault 3.5, where he competed in 2008, he won the 2011 season championship with Carlin Motorsport, with backing of Marussia. Wickens then left the series to race in the DTM for the HWA Team. Wickens left DTM after the 2017 season and signed to drive for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in the 2018 IndyCar Series, going on to claim pole position in his debut race at the 2018 St. Petersburg Grand Prix. His promising debut IndyCar season came to a premature end when a violent crash during the 500-mile race at Pocono left him a paraplegic. Paul Wickens
Paul Wickens (born 27 March 1956) is an English musician, composer, and record producer, professionally known as Wix. In a career spanning more than 40 years, Wickens has worked with artists including Nik Kershaw, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Bon Jovi, Edie Brickell, Kevin Coyne and many others. Wickens has been a member of the Paul McCartney Band since 1989. Career In the early 1980s Wickens was a member of Woodhead Monroe, a band that issued two singles distributed by Stiff, "Mumbo Jumbo" and "Identify." Wickens began touring with Paul McCartney in 1989. Since then, Wickens has served as the musical director for many of McCartney's tours. Gerald Ernest Wickens B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D., F.L.S. (18 December 1927 - 11 March 2019) was a British botanist. Biography Born Marylebone in 1927 and attended Ealing County High School. Following army service (1946-1948) he followed a career in agriculture and conservation in Africa. He served in the Africa Agriculture Department from 1952 and joined Hunting Technical Services (1962-66) in Sudan where he was team leader and ecologist for a study of Jebel Marra, an isolated massif. In 1967 he worked at the Herbarium at Kew Gardens, continuing to work on African plants, especially Combretaceae, Melastomataceae and Crassulaceae. He was awarded a Ph.D. from Reading University in 1972 for his theses "The Flora of Jebel Marra". In 1981 worked on the Survey of Economic Plants for Arid and Semi-Arid Tropics (SEPASAT). Aryness Joy Wickens (January 5, 1901 – February 2, 1991) was an American economist and statistician who served as acting commissioner of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and as president of the American Statistical Association, and who helped develop the United States Consumer Price Index... She did her undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and earned a master's degree in economics from the University of Chicago. At the University of Washington, she became a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
