Whyzdom
Whyzdom is a French symphonic metal band from Paris. The band was formed by Vynce Leff in 2007. As of 2021, they have released five full-length albums, one EP and one DVD. History The band was founded in 2007 by guitarist Vynce Leff, known as a producer of several progressive rock albums for Cyclops Records. They released their first EP ''Daughter of the Night'' on 29 February 2008, less than 6 months after formation. The band has been considered the ''Best French Band 2008'' for this EP. They have also performed at the Metal Female Voices Fest 2008 in Belgium. Whyzdom's first full-length album was named ''From the Brink of Infinity'' and was released on 21 September 2009 on Ascendance Records. In June 2010, lead vocalist Telya Melane left the band. Lisa Middelhauve, former Xandria singer, was accepted as guest lead vocalist for the band performance at the Raismes Fest 2010, and for their concert in Paris as support for Tarja Turunen. Clémentine Delauney
Clémentine Delauney (born 11 February 1987) is a French singer with a soprano vocal range who is currently singing for the symphonic metal bands Visions of Atlantis and Exit Eden. Previously she was the female backing vocalist for Austrian symphonic power metal band Serenity and the vocalist of French philharmonic metal band Whyzdom. Career At the age of 16, Clementine Delauney began her musical education at the Maîtrise de l'Opéra in Lyon. In late 2010 she joined Whyzdom as their lead vocalist, but never appears on any record of the band, because the singer left the band in early 2012 before they began recording the second album ''Blind?'' Back in 2011 Delauney also guest-singed on Serenity's “Out Of The Dark” tour before being introduced as a permanent member in December 2013. Metal Female Voices Fest
Metal Female Voices Fest was a heavy metal music festival dedicated to female vocalists, held annually in the Oktoberhallen in Wieze, Belgium from 2003 to 2016. It was organized by the ''Metal Organisation'', which later changed into "2 Wild 4 agency". The festival enables smaller and unknown bands within the female fronted genre to perform on a big stage beside bigger and more famous bands. Over the years, they gave away special awards or organized a warm-up which allowed bands to compete to perform on the festival for the next year. On 13 February 2017, it was announced that the Metal Female Voices Fest is put on indefinite hold. On 10 December 2018, it has been confirmed that a Japanese edition of MFVF will take place in Osaka and Tokyo in April 2019. In 2020, the official website of the Metal Female Voices Fest went dead. Lisa Middelhauve
Elisabeth Rodermund, known as Lisa Middelhauve (born Elisabeth Schaphaus on 28 November 1980) is a German musician, better known as the former lead vocalist and pianist (on the earliest works) of German symphonic metal band Xandria from early 2000, until April 2008, but returned as their singer in 2010, only to finish the remaining live shows due to their second lead vocalist, Kerstin Bischof's departure. After Xandria, in late 2010, Lisa Middelhauve was the guest singer for some shows of the French philharmonic metal band Whyzdom. Serenity (band)
Serenity is an Austrian symphonic power metal band, which was originally formed back in 2001. They became a more stable group with a consistent line-up in 2004, when it also began using more progressive and power influences than earlier. They have defined their genre with more melodic and symphonic metal elements. Most of their music focuses on important historical figures and events, including Sir Francis Drake, Marco Polo, Galileo, Beethoven, and Napoleon. They currently have produced seven studio albums and two demos. The members of Serenity have taken their talents outside of their music and have shared their interests and devotions with others. Vocalist Georg Neuhauser is a M.Sc. as both a geography and history teacher. He is currently in university to work on his doctoral thesis. Visions of Atlantis is an Austrian metal band from Styria, founded in 2000. Inspiration came both from successful symphonic metal band Nightwish and from the myth of Atlantis. History ''Eternal Endless Infinity'' and lineup changes (2000–2004) Fascinated by the myth of Atlantis, Werner Fiedler, Thomas Caser, Christian Stani, and Chris Kamper decided in August 2000 to work out a concept inspired by the secret of Atlantis. Tarja Turunen
Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen-Cabuli (born 17 August 1977), known professionally as Tarja Turunen or simply Tarja, is a Finnish heavy metal singer, best known as the former lead vocalist of Nightwish. She is a soprano with a three and a half octave range. Turunen studied singing at Sibelius Academy and Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. She is a professional classical lied singer, and the former lead vocalist of the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish, which she founded with Tuomas Holopainen and Emppu Vuorinen in 1996. Their combination of hard and fast guitar riffs with Turunen's dramatic, "operatic" lead vocals quickly achieved critical and commercial popularity.
