''Why We Fight'' is the debut album by Seattle-based Gatsbys American Dream. It is the only album including former drummer Dustin McGhye who remained for two tours after the CD release and was replaced by Waxwing drummer Rudy Gajadhar, and bassist Josh Berg who remained only to the end of the recording session, where he was replaced by current bassist Kirk Huffman. Gatsbys American Dream
Gatsbys American Dream is an American indie rock band from Seattle, Washington. Since their founding in 2001, they have released four full-length albums and one EP. The band's self-titled fourth album, their second on Fearless Records, peaked at number 22 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart and number 28 on the Top Independent Albums chart. The band drew their name from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel ''The Great Gatsby.'' Origins and ''Why We Fight'' The prototypes for the songs on the band's first record, '' Why We Fight'', were (according to Bobby) written by his earlier band, One Point Two on Together Records (Killed For Less Records) out of Richmond Indiana. Scott George owner of Together Records/Killed For Less Records says One Point Two CD is still available on interpunk.com and to this date claims it to be ahead of its time and ground breaking. Pop Punk
Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. Progressive Rock

Aaron Sprinkle
Aaron Sprinkle (born March 20, 1974) is an American singer, songwriter and record producer from Seattle, Washington. Career His career in music began in high school with a group called BellBangVilla. BellBangVilla became Poor Old Lu and they released a number of albums (see below). Aaron Sprinkle also sang and played lead guitar in Rose Blossom Punch, and has produced albums independently. On his solo releases, he plays almost all instruments except drums. He produced dozens of records for Tooth & Nail Records between 1993 and 2016. In 2005, Sprinkle formed the band Fair with Joey Sanchez, Nick Barber, and Erick Newbill. Fair released its debut album '' The Best Worst-Case Scenario'' on Tooth & Nail Records in June 2006. He is the brother of drummer Jesse Sprinkle. Jesse played with Aaron in Poor Old Lu, and was also an early member of Demon Hunter, whose albums Aaron has produced the majority of. Ribbons And Sugar
Gatsbys American Dream released their second album, ''Ribbons and Sugar'', in 2003. As indicated by the title, the album is based loosely around the George Orwell fable ''Animal Farm''. Album details ''Ribbons and Sugar'' is notably different from the group's debut album, ''Why We Fight'', which according to guitarist Bobby Darling is due to their unusual time signatures and a lack of choruses led to critical acclaim, however, it also led to various feuds with multiple record labels. "Cut the Strings" and later "The Dragon of Pendor" (featured on '' In the Land of Lost Monsters'') dealt specifically with the integrity issues they faced when told to write choruses for their songs. During the recording sessions of ''Ribbons and Sugar'', the band consisted of Nic Newsham on vocals, Bobby Darling and Ryan Van Wieringen on both guitar and backup vocals, Kirk Huffman on bass, and Rudy Gajadhar on drums. Waxwing (band)
Waxwing was an indie rock band from Seattle, Washington. The band officially broke up in late 2005, stating simply "we are finally calling it quits." In an interview with Seattle website The Stranger in April 2013 Rocky Votolato claimed that the band were working on new music, stating "We have been writing since early this year and can't wait to record another record. Not sure when that will happen but we're definitely planning on it." Rocky also claimed the band had "hopefully many more ive showsto come". However as of July 2018 no new music or live shows have materialised and the band has not updated their Facebook page since January 2014. George Mallory
George Herbert Leigh Mallory (18 June 1886 – 8 or 9 June 1924) was an English mountaineer who took part in the first three British expeditions to Mount Everest in the early 1920s. Born in Cheshire, Mallory became a student at Winchester College, where a teacher recruited him for an excursion in the Alps and he developed a strong natural ability for climbing. After graduating from Magdalene College, Cambridge, he taught at Charterhouse School whilst honing his skills as a climber in the Alps and the English Lake District. He served in the British Army during the First World War and fought at the Somme. After the war, Mallory returned to Charterhouse before resigning to participate in the 1921 British Mount Everest reconnaissance expedition.
