Why Did You Come To Japan
is a Japanese television programme presented by Osamu Shitara and Yūki Himura, a comedy duo known as "Bananaman". It is a regular programme on TV Tokyo on Monday evenings. The show was first broadcast in the form of two pilot shows in June and October 2012 before becoming a recurring series, airing late on Wednesday nights starting 9 January 2013. Due to its popularity, it was moved to the prime time evening slot on Mondays beginning with the episode broadcast on 15 April 2013, where it has been airing (with slight time changes) ever since. In the programme, a team of interviewers go around various airports in Japan, with Narita International Airport as their main reporting hub, and ask non-Japanese arrivals "Why did you come to Japan?". Osamu Shitara
is a Japanese comedian, actor, voice actor and television presenter. He performs '' boke'' (he does not entirely do ''boke'' he is known for doing ''tsukkomi'') and tells stories in the comedy duo Bananaman. His partner is Yūki Himura. He is also a former Seibu Railway employee. is a Japanese comedian, actor and voice actor. He performs ''tsukkomi'' (basically he did not decided if either he perform ''boke'' or ''tsukkomi'', but can also perform ''boke'') in the comedy duo Bananaman. His partner is Osamu Shitara. Himura married Aika Kanda, a Television announcer in April, 2018. Himura grew up in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture. He is represented with Horipro Com. Bananaman (comedy Duo)
is a Japanese ''owarai'' comedy duo consisting of Osamu Shitara and Yūki Himura. Career Shitara and Himura formed as a comedy unit in 1993 and debuted on stage in 1994. Himura had broken up with his previous partner and Shitara was working as the driver of the comedian Masayuki Watanabe, so they formed a duo after a friend introduced them. They concentrated on skit comedy, developing a theatrical style that emphasized verbal repartee. In 2008, they came in second on the nationally televised annual ''King of Conte'' skit comedy contest. Up until then, Bananaman had concentrated on live performances and DVD releases, but afterwards began to appear more on television.
