Whitney Conder
Whitney Conder (born May 6, 1988) is an American freestyle wrestler. In September 2012, she joined the U.S. Army The United States Army (USA) is the land service branch of the United States Armed Forces. It is one of the eight U.S. uniformed services, and is designated as the Army of the United States in the U.S. Constitution.Article II, section 2, cl ... as part of the World Class Athlete Program and serves with the military police. As a WCAP athlete, Conder has been a World Team member four times, a five-time national champion, and won a Military World silver medal. She won the gold medal in the 53 kg weight division at the 2015 Pan American Games. Conder was born to Sharon and Monte Conder. She has two brothers, Nate and Dustin Condor, and two sisters, Shantel Bird and Kim Jackson. Puyallup, Washington
Puyallup ( or ) is a city in Pierce County, Washington, United States, located about 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Tacoma and 35 miles (56 km) south of Seattle. Freestyle Wrestling
Freestyle wrestling is a style of wrestling originated from Great Britain and the United States. Along with Greco-Roman, it is one of the two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic Games. American high school and men's college wrestling is conducted under different rules and is termed scholastic and collegiate wrestling. American collegiate women's wrestling is conducted under freestyle rules. Freestyle wrestling, like collegiate wrestling, has its greatest origins in catch-as-catch-can wrestling. In both styles the ultimate goal is to throw and pin the opponent to the mat, which results in an immediate win. Unlike Greco-Roman, freestyle and collegiate wrestling allow the use of the wrestler's or the opponent's legs in offense and defense.
