Whiteout (Marvel Comics)
The Savage Land Mutates is a supervillain group of criminals appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Their creators were writer Roy Thomas and the penciler/inker team of Neal Adams and Tom Palmer. Within the comic books, the group is based in the imaginary place called the Savage Land, which is a hidden Antarctic environment of dinosaurs and primitive humans within Marvel Comics' fictional Marvel Universe. Publication history The Savage Land Mutates first appeared in ''The X-Men'' #62 and were created by Roy Thomas, Neal Adams, and Tom Palmer. Fictional team biography The Savage Land Mutates were originally the human inhabitants of the Savage Land (most of them being from the Swamp Men tribe) that were genetically altered by the mutant Magneto to serve as his troops. Whiteout (Oni Press)
''Whiteout'' is a comic book Limited series (comics), limited series by writer Greg Rucka and artist Steve Lieber. It was originally released in four issues during 1998, by Oni Press and then collected into a trade paperback (comics), trade paperback. A Whiteout (2009 film), film adaptation of the series was released in 2009. Plot US Marshall Carrie Stetko is disgraced after murdering a criminal in a blind rage. As punishment, she's sent to McMurdo Station in Antarctica where she establishes herself as someone not to be messed with. Sometime after Stetko's arrival, a body is found on the ice surrounded by mysterious holes in the snow. Since the face is destroyed, he's identified through prints as Alex Keller, a member of a scientific expedition. Stetko investigates the other members of Keller's expedition, starting at Victoria Station. Thunderstrike (Eric Masterson)
Eric Masterson is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character has appeared as Thor and later Thunderstrike. The character was introduced as a supporting character in the ''Thor'' title, but continued in several other comic books, including the self-titled series ''Thunderstrike'' in 1993. Later interpretations of Thunderstrike would appear in both the Marvel Comics 2 and Heroic Age Marvel Comics storylines, featuring the character's son as the hero.
