Marie Burke
Marie Burke (born Marie Rosa Altfuldisch, later Holt, 18 October 189421 March 1988) was an English actress of stage, cinema and television. She appeared in over 40 films between 1917 and 1971, and appeared in TV series between 1953 and 1969. Biography Burke was born in London in 1894 to Rosa (née Underwood) and Ferdinand Altfuldisch (sometimes transcribed as Altfieldisch). The family changed their name to Holt during World War I. Career Marie Burke was a British character comedian and trained as an operatic singer in Italy. She appeared in films in 1917, before making her stage debut in 1919. As a member of the Katja Company she was touring Australia in 1926 when she and her colleague, the tenor Warde Morgan, were seriously injured in the Aberdeen Rail Disaster. William Norwood Wadsworth (7 June 1874–6 June 1950) was an American actor of the silent era best known for his roles in early Westerns, playing the villain in ''What Happened to Mary?'' (1912), the first Western film serial and for playing Samuel Pickwick in ''Mr Pickwick's Predicament'' (1912), an early screen adaptation of ''The Pickwick Papers''. Wadsworth was born in Pigeon Cove in Massachusetts in 1874, the son of William Wadsworth (born 1842) and Adelia K Leonard (born 1846). Matthew Reginald Sheffield Cassan (18 February 1901 – 8 December 1957) was an English-American actor. Life He was born as Matthew Reginald Sheffield Cassan on 18 February 1901 in the St. George's, Hanover Square district of London, to Matthew Sheffield Cassan and Alice Mary Field.
