''White Apache'' ( it, Bianco Apache) is a 1986 Western film directed by Bruno Mattei. The film was an Italian and Spanish co-production between Beatrice Films and Multivideo. Plot After heavy gunfire in a clash with some outlaw, a pregnant woman is the only survivor of a caravan. Found by the Indians, the woman who is dying, is brought to the village, where she died giving birth to a child. Bruno Mattei
Bruno Mattei (30 July 1931 – 21 May 2007) was an Italian film director, screenwriter, and editor who directed exploitation films in many genres, including women in prison, nunsploitation, zombie, mondo, cannibal, and Nazisploitation films. Mattei's films often followed popular genre trends of the era. Mattei continued work as a director primarily in the Philippines until his death in 2007, just before he was to enter production on his fifth Zombie film. Biography Bruno Mattei was born on 30 July 1931 in Rome, Italy. Mattei grew up around films as his father owned a film editing studio. He studied at the Centro Sperimentale Centrale, the national film school, and graduated in 1951. Mattei initially worked as a screenwriter and claimed to have worked on over 100 films as an editor, a claim that film historian Louis Paul stated was "difficult to verify". ''Violence in a Women's Prison'' ( it, Violenza in un carcere femminile) is a women in prison film directed by Bruno Mattei. The film stars Laura Gemser and Gabriele Tinti. It tells the story of Emanuelle, who is sent to Santa Catarina Women's Penitentiary for drugs and prostitution, where she meets the warden and the other inmates. Her actual reason is undercover reporting for Amnesty International. It is the seventh film in the '' Emanuelle nera'' film series and the first one directed by Mattei. Plot Under a false identity, journalist Emanuelle (Laura Gemser) pretends to be a drug dealer to get herself sent to prison in order to investigate and document the brutality and abuses that inmates are subjected to. While there she is attacked, locked in solitary confinement, and injured. ''Women's Prison Massacre'' ( it, Blade Violent) is a 1983 film directed by Bruno Mattei and starring Laura Gemser, Gabriele Tinti, Carlo De Mejo, Lorraine De Selle, and Franca Stoppi. Plot Emanuelle (Laura Gemser) is sent to a violent women's prison. While she is in prison, she comes into confrontation with the "top dog" inmate Albina (Ursula Flores), ending in a series of fights. Albina gets the worse of it, including a broken arm, a knife in her leg, and her wig pulled off. Following a series of cat fights and arguments, the women's lives are interrupted by the arrival of four male death row inmates led by "Crazy Boy" Henderson ( Gabriele Tinti), who break into the prison. Plot Sister Cristina is lost in the catacombs under the convent while searching for Sister Assunta. She finds her in what appears to be a laboratory in the convent's morgue. While Sister Assunta is preparing a nun's corpse for embalming, she relays the dangers the nuns face in temptation by Satan with lustful desires; she also tells a story of a child born dead in the convent to a nun who fornicated with the devil, and events surrounding the murder of the previous mother superior, Sister Florence. Francesco Prosperi
Franco Prosperi (2 September 1926 – 17 October 2004) was an Italian film director and screenwriter, active between the mid-1960s and the early 1980s. Born Francesco Prosperi in Rome, Prosperi began his career as an assistant director with Mario Bava and with whom he also wrote several screenplays. In 1966, he made his directorial debut, credited as Frank Shannon, with the thriller film, ''Tecnica di un omicidio'' and over the years he built a solid reputation as a director of crime-action films. Claudio Fragasso
Claudio Fragasso (born 2 October 1951) is a film director and screenwriter. Fragasso first attempted to make art films in the early 1970s, then became a screenwriter in the Italian film industry in the mid-1970s. Fragasso met director Bruno Mattei, which led to a ten-year partnership from 1980 to 1990 during which the two worked together closely on films, with Fragasso's contributions often going uncredited. Fragasso's wife Rossella Drudi was also a screenwriter and collaborated with him on a number of projects. Fragasso would later go on to write and direct his own films in the 1980s, including ''Monster Dog'' with rock musician Alice Cooper and ''After Death''. Fragasso directed ''Troll 2'' in 1989, which was later the topic of ''Best Worst Movie'', a documentary film that discussed ''Troll 2''s fandom.
