"Whisky Story" is a song by British recording artist Example. It was released as a single on 10 July 2015. The song was written by Example and co-written and produced by Kevin Scales, Mark Knight and Jamie Reynolds. It entered the UK Singles Chart at number 106 and peaked at number 96. Background and release The track received its radio debut on Clara Amfo's BBC Radio 1 show on 9 July 2015, where Gleave announced it was to be released as a single. Gleave stated that he found inspiration for the track on nights out and his youth. He also said that he started writing the song just after his son was born in December 2014. Music video Gleave uploaded the music video for the track on 9 July 2015, just after it premiered on the radio. The video was shot in one take. It was directed by Gleave himself and Adam Powell. Elliot John Gleave (born 20 June 1982), better known by his stage name Example, is an English musician, singer, songwriter, rapper and record producer. His name arose due to his initials being E.G., which is an abbreviation of the Latin phrase '' exempli gratia'' ("for example"). Example first found success with the release of his second studio album, ''Won't Go Quietly'', which peaked at number four on the UK Albums Chart and peaked at number one on the UK Dance Chart. and followed his debut album "What We Made" which was heavily hip-hop influenced due to Example only knowing a hip-hop record producer at the time. Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square ( ) is a public square in the City of Westminster, Central London, laid out in the early 19th century around the area formerly known as Charing Cross. At its centre is a high column bearing a statue of Admiral Nelson commemorating the victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. The battle of 21 October 1805, established the British navy's dominance at sea in the Napoleonic Wars over the fleets of France and Spain. The site around Trafalgar Square had been a significant landmark since the 1200s. For centuries, distances measured from Charing Cross have served as location markers. The site of the present square formerly contained the elaborately designed, enclosed courtyard of the King's Mews. Charing Cross Tube Station
Charing Cross (sometimes informally abbreviated as Charing +, Charing X, CHX or CH+) is a London Underground station at Charing Cross in the City of Westminster. The station is served by the Bakerloo and Northern lines and provides an interchange with Charing Cross mainline station. Clara Amfo
Clara Amfo (born 22 May 1984) is a British radio broadcaster, television presenter, podcast host and voice-over artist. She is known for presenting her shows on BBC Radio 1. Early life and education Amfo was born in Kingston upon Thames in London to Ghanaian parents. Her father, who died in 2015, was an NHS microbiologist, and her mother a hospital cleaner.
