''Where the West Begins'' is a 1938 American Western (genre), Western film directed by J.P. McGowan in his final feature film as a director. Plot summary After being told by his ranch boss Lynn that she plans to sell her ranch to finance a move east, Jack is framed for cattle rustling by Barnes, the man set to buy the ranch. With the help of his pal Buzz, Jack escapes the noose and the two set out to clear Jack's name. In addition, Jack is suspicious of the reason why Barnes wants to own Lynn's ranch in the first place. Richard Alexander (actor)
Richard Alexander (November 19, 1902 – August 9, 1989) was an American film character actor. Biography Born in Dallas, Texas, Alexander appeared in numerous film serials such as ''Flash Gordon'', ''Zorro Rides Again'' and films like '' Babes in Toyland'', ''The Gladiator'', as well as a leading role in '' All Quiet on the Western Front''. Although he appeared in countless films, almost all of his appearances were uncredited (see filmography below). Alexander died at age 86 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. Johnny Lange
John George Lange (August 15, 1905 – January 6, 2006) was an American songwriter, working mostly in the motion picture industry. His chief musical collaborators were Archie Gottler and Jack Meskill. Biography Lange was born in Philadelphia and attended high school there. He began writing for film studios in 1937, and joined ASCAP in 1940. He resumed his film music career in 1946 and 1947, after World War II. He also wrote special material for night club singers, and the "Ice Capades of 1950". Lange's most popular composition was "Mule Train" which earned him an Academy Award nomination in 1950 (it was featured in the film ''Singing Guns''). The ASCAP online database shows him as the author of 211 songs. Connie Lee
Connie Lee (born 1918) was an American screenwriter and songwriter known for her work on the Blondie films, as well as a number of B-Westerns (one of few women working in the genre at the time). Biography Lee came out of the Tin Pan Alley school of songwriting, and was given a contract by Ambassador Pictures to write songs for a few of its films. By the time she was 19, she began writing screenplays; her first feature, ''Swing It, Professor'', was released in 1937. She often collaborated on scripts with Karen DeWolf: As a duo, the two penned ''Nine Girls'' and many of the Blondie titles. Lee married screenwriter Seymour Bennett (born Seymour Berkowitz) at some point in the early 1950s; the pair collaborated on the story for 1953's ''The Last Posse''. Lee's and Bennett's careers came to an end by the early 1950s when they were placed on the Hollywood blacklist for alleged Communist ties.
