Where It's At (film)
''Where It's At'' is a 1969 American drama film written and directed by Garson Kanin and starring David Janssen, Rosemary Forsyth, Robert Drivas, Brenda Vaccaro and Don Rickles. The film was released on May 7, 1969, by United Artists. Plot A.C. Smith owns and runs the Caesars Palace hotel and casino in Las Vegas. As pleased as he is to have grown son Andy pay a visit, he wishes Andy would express some interest in women or the hotel, two things A.C. values above all else. Andy stays to learn the business after losing a cut of cards to his dad. He soon begins flirtations with Molly and Diana, who respectively happen to be his dad's secretary and mistress. A chip off the old block, Andy saves the hotel for A.C. by winning a game of chance. He ends up with Molly, and his dad ends up with the family business in good hands. Garson Kanin
Garson Kanin (November 24, 1912 – March 13, 1999) was an American writer and director of plays and films. Early life Garson Kanin was born in Rochester, New York; his family later relocated to Detroit then to New York City. He attended James Madison High School in Brooklyn, dropping out to take up a career on the theatre stage. He subsequently became a professional saxophone player and leader of his own band that went by the name Garson Kanin and His Red Hot Peppers. During this period, he attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts pursuing an acting career. He was of Jewish descent. Stage career Garson Kanin began his show-business career as a jazz musician, burlesque comedian, and actor. He graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and made his Broadway debut in ''Little Ol' Boy'' (1933). Anthony Holland (actor)
Anthony Holland (March 3, 1928 – July 9, 1988) was an American actor, best known for his comic performances in theatre, film and television. Holland graduated from the University of Chicago and studied acting with Lee Strasberg during the 1960s. He was one of the original members of The Second City improvisational comedy group. In 1987, he appeared in Martha Clarke's adaptation of several stories by Franz Kafka, ''The Hunger Artist'', for which he received praise from ''The New York Times'' theatre critic Frank Rich. The Committee (improv Group)
The Committee was a San Francisco-based improvisational comedy group founded by Alan Myerson and Jessica Myerson (formerly known as Irene Ryan and Irene Riordan, later known as Latifah Taormina). The Myersons were both alums of The Second City in Chicago. The Committee opened April 10, 1963 at 622 Broadway in a 300-seat Cabaret theater that used to be an indoor bocce ball court in San Francisco's North Beach. Garry Goodrow, Hamilton Camp, Larry Hankin, Kathryn Ish, Scott Beach and Ellsworth Milburn were the cast. Jerry Mander handled the group's PR, and Richard Stahl, who later joined the improv troupe, was its first company manager. Jessica Myerson joined the company in May. Arthur Cantor took the company to Broadway in New York in 1964 for a limited engagement at the Henry Miller Theater. This occasioned a second group to hold the fort in San Francisco. Vince House (July 21, 1929 – July 18, 2002) was an American film and television actor. He appeared in over 100 films and television programs, and was perhaps best known for playing the co-starring role of "Motorcycle Officer Vince" in NBC's ''Emergency!'' and as "Mr. Peter Butler" in ''Mr. Novak''. Early life Howard was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Howard attended and graduated at Vashon High School. After attending and graduating from Vashon High School, he served in the army, as a truck driver in Germany. He was also part of the singing group, The Rhythm Aces, with Willie Davis, Billy Steward, Lloyd McGraw and Chuck Rowan, where he also changed his surname to "Howard".
