''When the Woman Butts In'' ( cs, Kam čert nemůže) is a 1959 Czechoslovak comedy film directed by Zdeněk Podskalský. It was entered into the 1960 Cannes Film Festival. Plot The study of Dr Frantisek Prucha, who bears the nickname Faust, is located in Faust's House, now converted into a hospital. Dr Prucha is worn out from overwork, thus he does not even notice the interest he is generating among the surrounding women. One of them unexpectedly appears at one of his lectures. In her red dress, she looks like Mephistopheles dressed as a woman, and Faust privately calls her Mephistopheles. After he returns home, under strange circumstances, he finds her in his room, and he begins to think he is suffering from hallucinations. Rudolf Hrušínský (17 October 1920 – 13 April 1994) was a Czech actor. He was one of the most popular Czech actors. Many of his movies such as ''The Good Soldier Švejk'', ''The Cremator'' or '' Capricious Summer'' are considered classics of the Czech cinema. He was awarded the Legion of Honor by France and title ''National Artist'' in Czechoslovakia. Jiří Menzel once described him as "the Czech Jean Gabin." Biography He was born back stage at the theatre in Nová Včelnice on 17 October 1920. His parents were Hermina Červičková and Rudolf Hrušínský (born Rudolf Böhm). František "Frank" Daniel (April 14, 1926 – March 29, 1996) was a Czech-American screenwriter, film director and teacher. He is known for developing the sequence paradigm of screenwriting, in which a classically constructed movie can be broken down into three acts, and a total of eight specific sequences. He served as co-chair of the Columbia University film program, and as a dean of FAMU, the American Film Institute and the USC School of Cinema-Television. Jiří Sovák (''né'' Schmitzer; 27 December 1920 – 6 September 2000) was a Czech actor, best known for his comedy roles. Vlastimil Brodský (15 December 1920 – 20 April 2002) was a Czech actor. He appeared in more than one hundred films, and is considered a key figure in the postwar development of Czech cinema. One of his best-known roles was as the title character in '' Jakob der Lügner'' for which won the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the 25th Berlin International Film Festival.
