''When Dreams Come True'' is a 1929 American silent drama film directed by Duke Worne and starring Helene Costello, Rex Lease and Claire McDowell.Munden p.884 Synopsis Ben Shelby, a blacksmith, is in love with Caroline Swayne but her wealthy father rejects the marriage. When he is found murdered shortly afterwards, suspicion falls on Shelby. However he is able to prove that he innocent, and identify the real culprit who killed Swayne to prevent his horse running in a major race. Howard "Duke" Worne (December 14, 1888 – October 13, 1933) was an American film director, director and actor of the silent film, silent era. He directed more than 70 films between 1919 and 1931. He also appeared in 27 films between 1914 and 1928. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and died in Los Angeles, California. In 1930, Worne married silent film actress Virginia Brown Faire, to whom he remained married until his death three years later in 1933. Emmett Carleton King (May 31, 1865 – April 21, 1953) was an American actor of the stage and screen. Biography King began his acting career on stage. His first Broadway appearance was in 1899, in the farce, ''The Father of His Country'', which he wrote and starred in. He would appear in several more Broadway productions over the next 15 years, including ''Mary Jane's Pa'' in 1908–09, and the 1911 production of Ben-Hur. His screen career was mostly as a character actor, and spanned both the silent and sound film eras. He began his film career with a featured role in the 1917 silent film, ''Mary Jane's Pa'', reprising the role he had played on Broadway almost a decade earlier. George Periolat
George Periolat (February 5, 1874 – February 20, 1940) was an American actor. Biography Born in Chicago, Illinois, George Periolat began his career as a Broadway actor. Making his film debut with the Essanay Studios in Chicago, he moved to Hollywood in 1911 and starred in over 170 films throughout his career. He was a very versatile actor, often playing multiple roles in a single production, as when he played two leading characters, the count and the crook, in the 1916 production of '' The Counterfeit Earl''. The story of Norma Desmond, though fictitious, is not far removed from the plight of many silent film stars, and the advent of the sound film brought about a swift end to Periolat's career. He made his last appearance in 1932's ''What Price Hollywood?''. On February 20, 1940, he committed suicide by ingesting arsenic in his Hollywood mansion.
