''What We Have Sown'' (2007) is the sixth album by The Pineapple Thief, recorded over the span of eight weeks during the development of Tightly Unwound (compare with 8 Days and 8 Days Later). The record was released through Cyclops Records as a "thank you" to the label for supporting the band before their departure for Kscope. The Pineapple Thief
The Pineapple Thief are a British progressive rock band, started by Bruce Soord in 1999 in Somerset, England. History Early years Founder Bruce Soord started The Pineapple Thief as an outlet for his music back in 1999. Soord released the debut ''Abducting the Unicorn'' on Cyclops Records, which created enough interest to establish a small but loyal fan base. Soord returned to the Dining Room studios to work on the second album ''137''. During this time, several major labels started to take an interest, causing a delay in the release which arrived over two years after the debut. However, it was debatably the third album, ''Variations on a Dream'' that gave the band the boost it needed, reaching out to yet more people all over the world, by which point they were consistently the top sellers on their label, Cyclops. Tightly Unwound
''Tightly Unwound'' (2008) is the seventh studio album by The Pineapple Thief, and their first album released by Kscope. All previous Pineapple Thief releases were published by Cyclops Records. Kscope dedicated a microsite to the album before its release, containing a preview of the album in audio streaming, a picture gallery, desktop wallpapers and audio samples as a source for remixes. Those who were signed to the mailing list could get the acoustic version of "Shoot First" as a free-download track. On 28 July 2008 the band released ''Shoot First'' as a download EP. A video for the song, filmed by the acclaimed director Lasse Hoile (famous for his works with Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Dream Theater and Blackfield), premiered on the ''Tightly Unwound'' mini-site on 31 July 2008. Snapper Music
Snapper Music is an independent record label founded in 1996 by former head of Castle Communications Jon Beecher, Dougie Dudgeon and funded by Mark Levinson from Palan Music Publishing. In 1999, Snapper broke away from its Palan parent company in an MBO in association with ACT and CAI venture capitalists. In 2004, Snapper Music was bought out by music publisher and former agent and manager Bryan Morrison (deceased) and in 2005 Jon Beecher (MD) and Dougie Dudgeon (A&R) left the company and were replaced by Frederick Jude, a former employee of Palan Music Publishing and a Snapper director.
