WhatFunLifeWas
Bedhead was an American indie rock band, active from 1991 to 1998, based in Dallas, Texas. Members consisted of Matt and Bubba Kadane (vocals and guitar), Tench Coxe (guitar), Kris Wheat (bass), and Trini Martinez (drums). The band released several EPs and three LPs on Trance Syndicate, touring intermittently. Bedhead's music was generally subdued, with three electric guitars and one electric bass guitar over sung or spoken vocals. Allmusic dubbed the group "the quintessential indie rock band," and ''Tiny Mix Tapes'' gave their final album '' Transaction de Novo'' a perfect 5/5 score. In 1999, a year after the breakup of Bedhead, Matt and Bubba Kadane went on to form The New Year, a band with a style similar to Bedhead's. History Founding The roots of the band trace back to brothers Matt and Bubba Kadane playing music together as children in Wichita Falls, Texas. Beheaded (album)
''Beheaded'' is the second studio album by Texas-based indie rock band Bedhead, released 1996 through Trance Syndicate. The album was released in the United Kingdom through Rough Trade, and was reissued on compact disc format through Touch & Go Records on February 20, 2001, along with the band's other two albums ''WhatFunLifeWas'' and '' Transaction de Novo''. The album was included in the Numero Group's 2014 boxset '' 1992–1998'' and was also released separately on LP format. Critical reception '' CMJ New Music Monthly'' wrote that the album "reveals the band's mastery of its technique: Matt and Bubba Kadane's whispered, spoken or half-sung vocals trickle through the plodding, strangely dynamic songs, which are bolstered by the band's three-guitar approach, though not in a predictable strength-in-numbers fashion." Track listing Personnel Adapted from the ''Beheaded'' liner notes. Bedhead * Kris Wheat – bass * Trini Martinez – drums * Bubba Kadane – guitar, voca ...

Following their debut album '' Sound of Confusion'' (1986), Spacemen 3 had their first independent chart hits in 1987, gaining a cult following, and through albums ''The Perfect Prescription'' (1987) and '' Playing with Fire'' (1989), went on to have greater success towards the end of the decade.Lazell, Barry (1997) ''Indie Hits 1980–1989'', Cherry Red Books, , p. 213 However, they disbanded shortly afterwards, releasing their final studio album ''Recurring'' post-split in 1991 after an acrimonious parting of ways. Joy Division
Joy Division were an English rock band formed in Salford in 1976. The group consisted of vocalist Ian Curtis, guitarist/keyboardist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook and drummer Stephen Morris. Sumner and Hook formed the band after attending a June 1976 Sex Pistols concert. While Joy Division's first recordings were heavily influenced by early punk, they soon developed a sparse sound and style that made them one of the pioneers of the post-punk movement. Their self-released 1978 debut EP ''An Ideal for Living'' drew the attention of the Manchester television personality Tony Wilson, who signed them to his independent label Factory Records. Their debut album ''Unknown Pleasures'', recorded with producer Martin Hannett, was released in 1979. Frontman Curtis struggled with personal problems including a failing marriage, depression, and epilepsy. As the band's popularity grew, Curtis's health condition made it increasingly difficult for him to perform; he occasionally experi ...

Sputnik Music
Sputnikmusic is an American music community website offering music criticism and music news alongside features commonly associated with wiki-style websites. The format of the website is unusual in that it includes both professional and amateur content, distinguishing it from professionally written music websites such as ''Pitchfork'' and ''Tiny Mix Tapes'', as well as collecting and presenting a wiki-style metadata database in a manner comparable to Rate Your Music and Discogs. Over time, the site came to be established as a credible source; it is now among the sources that Metacritic uses to compile "Critic Scores" and is used as a news source by other websites. As a general rule, the staff writers tended to focus on new releases; however, any user was welcome to submit a review of any album that has been officially released. All genres of music were covered by the site, with dedicated subsections for metal, punk, indie, rock, hip hop, and pop; an 'Other' section also caters ...
