What's Up Nurse!
''What's Up Nurse!'' is a 1977 British sex comedy film directed by Derek Ford and starring Nicholas Field, Felicity Devonshire and John Le Mesurier. It tells the story of the adventures of a young doctor in a hospital. A sequel ''What's Up Superdoc!'' was released the following year, with Christopher Mitchell replacing Nicholas Field as Dr Todd. Derek Ford
Derek Ford (6 September 1932, Essex – 19 May 1995) was an English film director and writer, most famous for sexploitation films such as ''The Wife Swappers'' (1970), '' Suburban Wives'' (1971), '' Commuter Husbands'' (1972), ''Keep It Up, Jack'' (1973), '' Sex Express'' (1975) (also filmed in a graphic hardcore version), ''What's Up Nurse!'' (1977) and ''What's Up Superdoc!'' (1978). Chic Murray
Charles Thomas McKinnon "Chic" Murray (6 November 1919 – 29 January 1985) was a Scottish comedian and actor. He appeared in various roles on British television and film, most notably in the 1967 version of ''Casino Royale'', and portrayed Liverpool Football Club manager Bill Shankly in a musical. Life and career Murray was born in Greenock, Renfrewshire. He began his career as a musician in amateur groups such as "The Whinhillbillies" and "Chic and His Chicks" while an apprentice at the Kincaid shipyard in 1934. Maidie Dickson (1922–2010) was already a seasoned star in her own right (having worked since she was 3 , when she was playing the Greenock Empire. ''Keep It Up, Jack'' is a 1974 British sex comedy film directed by Derek Ford and produced by Michael L. Green. Jack James ( Mark Jones), an unsuccessful music hall entertainer and drag artist, inherits a brothel from his late aunt, and impersonates her in order to seduce the female clients. The film also exists in a version with hardcore inserts, but there is no suggestion that any of the credited cast participated in it. In January 2022 it was announced that Dark Force Entertainment will release the longer, hardcore version of the film on blu-ray. The ''Carry On'' series of 31 British comedy films were released between 1958 and 1978, produced by Peter Rogers with director Gerald Thomas. The humour of ''Carry On'' was in the British comic tradition of music hall and bawdy seaside postcards. In between the films, Rogers and Thomas produced four Christmas television specials (1969–1973), a 1975 television series of thirteen episodes, and three West End stage shows that later toured the regions. Michael Cronin (born 1942) is an English actor. Personal life Born in Cranfield, Bedfordshire during World War II, he was educated at St Brendan's College by the Christian Brothers in Bristol, and at the University of London where he studied English. He is married and has two sons. Terence A. Duggan (15 April 1932 – 1 May 2008) was a British comedian and actor who had a successful career in cabaret and variety, and played numerous character roles on television. Early life Duggan was born in Hoxton, London.
