"What'll I Do" is a song written by Irving Berlin in 1923. Paul Samuel Whiteman (March 28, 1890 – December 29, 1967) was an American bandleader, composer, orchestral director, and violinist. As the leader of one of the most popular dance bands in the United States during the 1920s and early 1930s, Whiteman produced recordings that were immensely successful, and press notices often referred to him as the "King of Jazz". ''All Alone'' is an album by Frank Sinatra, released in 1962. Originally, ''All Alone'' was going to be called ''Come Waltz with Me''. Although the title and the accompanying specially written title song were dropped before the album's release, the record remained a stately collection of waltzes, arranged and conducted by Gordon Jenkins. The original title track is included as a bonus track on the 1992 compact disc release of the album. This was the first studio album from Sinatra to not make the U.S. Top Twenty since 1950. All of the tracks on the album are torch songs, hence the lonely name of the album. Five of the tracks were written by Irving Berlin. The cover is a trimmed portion of a painting that hung in Sinatra's Palm Springs home. Pink Martini is an American band that was founded in 1994 by pianist Thomas Lauderdale in Portland, Oregon. Group members call it a little orchestra that crosses several styles, such as classical, latin, traditional pop, and jazz. The co-lead vocalists of Pink Martini are China Forbes and Storm Large. History Thomas Lauderdale has worked in politics since his years in high school in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. He considered the music at most fundraisers loud and boring. ''What's New'' is an album of traditional pop standards released by American singer/songwriter/producer Linda Ronstadt in 1983. It represents the first in a trilogy of 1980s albums Ronstadt recorded with bandleader/arranger Nelson Riddle. John Kosh designed the album covers for all three albums. Production The album was a major change in direction because Ronstadt was then considered the leading female vocalist in rock. Both her record company and manager, Peter Asher, were very reluctant to produce this album with Ronstadt, but eventually her determination won them over and the albums exposed a whole new generation to the sounds of the pre-swing and swing eras. ''A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night'' is a 1973 album of classic 20th-century standards sung by American singer Harry Nilsson. The album was arranged by Frank Sinatra's arranger Gordon Jenkins, and produced by Derek Taylor. This album is notable in being a standards album produced a decade before such works started to become popular again. The title is an allusion to Shakespeare's ''Henry V'', Act 4, in which the Chorus refers to Henry's nocturnal visit to his troops as "a little touch of Harry in the night". ''Dark Lady'' is the 11th studio album by American singer-actress Cher, released in May 1974 by MCA. Cher again collaborated with Snuff Garrett as a record producer, and with Al Capps for the arrangements. ''Dark Lady'' was the third and final studio album for MCA.
