Wetton Downes
''Wetton/Downes'' (sometimes stylised as ''Wetton-Downes'' or ''Wetton & Downes'', though the album is given no official title) is the first album released by Asia member Geoff Downes and former Asia member John Wetton, and is a precursor to their ''Icon'' series. It is essentially a collection of (previously unreleased) demo tracks, mostly recorded during Asia's hiatus in the late 1980s through the time of their brief reformation in 1990. In September 2017, Downes announced (via his Twitter account) the re-release of this title, with remastered sound and additional tracks, as ''Icon Zero'' on Epicon Records. John Wetton
John Kenneth Wetton (12 June 1949 – 31 January 2017) was an English musician, singer, and songwriter. Known for his dexterous bass playing and booming baritone voice, Wetton first gained fame in the early 1970s. Wetton was the singer and principal songwriter of the supergroup Asia, which proved to be his biggest commercial success. The debut Asia album sold ten million copies worldwide, and was ''Billboard'' magazine's number one album of 1982. He also performed with many other progressive rock and hard rock bands, including King Crimson, U.K., Family, Roxy Music, Uriah Heep and Wishbone Ash. He later formed the duo Icon with his Asia band mate (and songwriting partner) Geoff Downes. From the 1990s he had a successful solo career. Scott Gorham
William Scott Gorham (born March 17, 1951) is an American guitarist and songwriter who is one of the "twin lead guitarists" for the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy. Although not a founding member of Thin Lizzy, he served a continuous membership after passing an audition in 1974, joining the band at a time when the band's future was in doubt after the departures of original guitarist Eric Bell and his brief replacement Gary Moore. Gorham remained with Thin Lizzy until the band's breakup in 1983. He and guitarist Brian Robertson, both hired at the same time, marked the beginning of the band's most critically successful period, and together developed Thin Lizzy's twin lead guitar style while contributing dual backing vocals as well. Agneta Åse Fältskog (born 5 April 1950), known as Agnetha Fältskog (), is a Swedish singer, songwriter, and musician. She first achieved success in Sweden with the release of her 1968 self-titled debut album. She later achieved international stardom in the 1970s as a member of the pop group ABBA. Mike Sturgis
Mike Sturgis is an American drummer, having played for the band 21 Guns and later with Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith in Psycho Motel, where he played on both ''State of Mind'' (1996) and ''Welcome to the World'' (1997) albums. He was also the drummer for Wishbone Ash between 1995 and 1997 and drummer for Asia between 1994 and 2001. Sturgis began drumming at the age of ten and from 1982 to 1986 attended the University of Miami, where he received a degree in studio music and jazz. From 1986 to 1987, he toured with Norwegian band A-ha and played on "The Swing of Things", "I've Been Losing You" and "Soft Rains of April" from the album ''Scoundrel Days''. Francis Dunnery
Francis Dunnery (born 25 December 1962) is an English musician, singer-songwriter, record producer and record label owner. Dunnery was the lead singer and guitarist for British prog- pop band It Bites between 1982 and 1990. Since 1990 he has pursued a solo career, and has owned and run his own record label, Aquarian Nation, since 2001. Geoffrey Downes
Geoffrey Downes (born 25 August 1952) is an English keyboardist who gained fame as a member of the new wave group The Buggles with Trevor Horn, the progressive rock band Yes, and the supergroup Asia. Born in Stockport, Downes moved to London to pursue a music career. In 1977, he formed The Buggles with Horn and enjoyed success with their first album ''The Age of Plastic'' (1980) which included the worldwide hit single "Video Killed the Radio Star". In May 1980, Downes joined Yes with Horn and recorded ''Drama'' (1980). After Yes disbanded in 1981, Downes helped Trevor Horn to produce a second Buggles album, ''Adventures in Modern Recording'' (1981) although he was only primarily involved for half of it, and co-founded Asia with ex-Yes fellow musician Steve Howe. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses.
