Westmeadows Football Club
The Westmeadows Football Club is an Australian rules football club located 19 km north west of Melbourne in the suburb of Westmeadows and is affiliated with the Essendon District Football League. After meetings with local community members the club was founded in 1970, as a junior club fielding Under 11's and currently fields six under-age teams. The Senior club was established in 1977. Westmeadows only Senior Grand Final success was in 1984 when the club defeated Ascot Vale by forty points at Windy Hill to win the B Grade premiership. Senior Premierships (1) *B Grade *1984. Essendon District Football League
The Essendon District Football League (EDFL) is a professional Australian rules football league competition based in Essendon, Victoria, consisting of teams based in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. Founded in 1930, the men's competition consists of three leagues: Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2, with 10 clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 nine in Division 2. Promotion and relegation between these divisions occurs, with the lowest-placed clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 being relegated at the end of each season. Clubs which win the Division 1 and Division 2 premierships are automatically promoted. Each men's team also fields a reserves side and an under-19 side that play a fixture mirroring that of the senior side. Since 2017, the League has also run a competition for women's Australian rules football. Westmeadows is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Westmeadows recorded a population of 6,502 at the . Mainly a residential suburb, Westmeadows includes the areas east and west of Mickleham Road. It borders include Yuroke Creek between Johnstone Street and Barry Road (the eastern limit), the border with Attwood (the water pipes path parallel to Toora Drive and Linga and Kenny Streets) as well as the Moonee Ponds Creek east of Mickleham Road (the northern limits) and just before the Cleanaway Landfill (the western limit). Craig Ellis
Craig Ellis (born 4 June 1975 in Stawell, Victoria) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. Football career He was drafted by North Melbourne as a 15-year-old in the 1990 AFL Draft, but only played for their Under-19 team. Andrew Welsh (born 11 February 1983) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. He was selected by with the 47th selection in the 2001 AFL draft. He was a backline player who played halfback or back pocket for much of his career. However, later in his career he developed his game to play as a tagging-defensive midfielder. He was a very quick player and runs off half back very well. A knee injury in 2005 sidetracked his career a little, but made a strong comeback in defence during 2006. Jordan Scott Bannister (born 31 October 1982) is a former Australian rules football player and umpire, who played for Carlton and Essendon and umpired in the Australian Football League. Playing career Bannister made his debut for the Essendon Football Club in Round 12, 2001 against Adelaide.
