Westfield F.C. (Sussex)
Westfield Football Club are a football club based in Westfield, near Hastings, England. They were established before World War I. They joined the Sussex County Football League Division Three in 1997. Despite finishing outside the Sussex County Football League Division Two relegation places Westfield were relegated due to failing the ground grading regulations. They are currently members of the and play at the Parish Field. History Westfield joined Division Two of the East Sussex League in 1971, the finished runners up in 1972–73. The following season in Division One, they won a league and cup double, in 1977–78 in the Premier Division they won another league and cup double. However, by 1991 the club were back in Division Two of the league. The club were admitted back into Division Three of the Sussex County League for the 1997–98 season. Westfield, East Sussex
Westfield is a village and civil parish in the Rother district of East Sussex. It is one of the largest villages in the area with a population of around 2,750. The village lies five miles (8 km) north of Hastings. It was known as Westewelle in the Domesday survey. The parish includes the linear hamlet of Kent Street along the A21 road. This spans 800 yards from Carpenter's Barn Farm at the southern end past Claverton Country House Hotel up to Sedlescombe Golf Club at the northern end. A prominent sight when entering the village from the south is the church, dedicated to St. John the Baptist. Its many features include extensive buttressing, a 12th-century porch and a 14th-century font with an elaborate 17th-century cover. Rother District
Rother is a local government district in East Sussex, England. Its council is based in Bexhill-on-Sea. The district is named after the River Rother which flows within its boundaries. History The District of Rother was formed on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, by the merger of the Municipal Borough of Bexhill, the Municipal Borough of Rye and Battle Rural District. Overview Premier League Manchester United overcame close competition from Arsenal and Chelsea to win their fifth Premiership title in seven seasons.
