Anne Westfall
Anne Westfall is an American game programmer and software developer, known for 1983's '' Archon: The Light and the Dark'', originally written for the Atari 8-bit family. She is married to fellow game developer Jon Freeman. Both are founders of Free Fall Associates. Career Westfall began computer programming at the age of 30. Before moving into the video game industry, Westfall worked as a programmer for a civil engineering firm Morton Technology, where she developed the first microcomputer-based program designed to help lay out subdivisions. In 1981, Westfall and her husband, Jon, left Epyx, the video game developer and publisher her husband co-founded just three years earlier. Westfall cited a desire to learn assembly language and to work on the Atari 800 as one reason for their departure from Epyx. Stacy Westfall
Stacy Westfall (born September 26, 1974) is a professional horse trainer who specializes in reining. In 2006, she became the first woman to compete in and win the Road to the Horse competition. In 2006, she also won the All American Quarter Horse Congress Freestyle Reining competition on the black mare, Whizards Baby Doll, riding both bridleless and bareback. Early life and career Westfall grew up in South China, Maine. While her parents were not horse professionals, her mother was her instructor until Westfall went to college at the University of Findlay in Ohio. Westfall began to perform bridleless in freestyle reining, a form of reining competition where exhibitors design their own routines and perform to music, after accidentally dropping a rein while in a traditional reining competition. Robert Barton "Bullet Bob" Westfall (May 5, 1919 – October 23, 1980) was an American football fullback who played for the University of Michigan (1939–1941) and the Detroit Lions (1944–1947). He was a consensus first-team All-American in 1941 and a first-team All-Pro player in 1945. In 1987, Westfall was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame. Biography Westfall was born in 1919 in Hamtramck, Michigan. His father abandoned the family when Westfall was two years old which necessitated he and his older sister living in foster homes until his mother was able to move them to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1924. There, Westfall's mother worked 14-hour days in a laundry six days per week and the children worked, too, to make ends meet.
