Westerville North High School
Westerville North High School is a public high school in Westerville, Ohio in Delaware County, Ohio. It is one of three high schools in the Westerville City School District. The school's current principal is Kurt Yancey. Background The high school has been open since 1975. Westerville North's colors are cardinal and gold and its mascot is a representation of a classic Roman warrior. Students follow a moral code known as The Warrior Way, which focuses on respect for one another, parents, school and community. There are many traditions that are part of the school including seniors painting a large boulder outside the school, and walking around the school emblem in the front lobby for good luck. The high school is one of three in the Westerville school district. Westerville is a city in Franklin and Delaware counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. A northeastern suburb of Columbus, the population was 39,190 at the 2020 census. Westerville is the home of Otterbein University. Ryan Wilson (athlete)
Ryan Wilson (born December 19, 1980) is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the 110 meters hurdles. He is a previous national champion after winning at the 2013 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and the current national silver medal holder at the 2014 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He was the 2003 NCAA champion in the event and won four hurdles titles in the Pacific-10 Conference. He was the bronze medalist at the 2008 IAAF World Athletics Final and was the runner-up at the 2010 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. His personal best time of 13.02 seconds, set in 2007 at the Reebok Grand Prix, ranks him within the top twenty fastest of all time in the event. Shaun Andrew Stonerook (born August 19, 1977) is a retired Italian-American professional basketball player. At a height of 2.01 m (6'7") tall, he played mainly at the power forward position, but he could also play as a small forward, if needed. Kevin Martin (basketball, Born 1975)
Kevin Martin (born August 2, 1975) is an American former basketball player. He was the Big South Conference Player of the Year in 1999 as a collegian at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and played professionally in Finland. Martin, a 6'5" forward from Westerville, Ohio, teamed with Shaun Stonerook to lead Westerville North High School to the 1994 Ohio Division I state championship. From there, Martin committed to walk-on at nearby Ohio State University. As a walk-on, Martin played a bigger role than expected, averaging 16.1 minutes and 7.6 points per game and even started four games for the Buckeyes in the 1994–95 season. In the offseason, Martin chose to transfer to a school where he could expect more playing time, ultimately settling on UNC Asheville. Robert Owen Kennedy Jr. (born August 18, 1970 in Bloomington, Indiana) is an American distance runner. Now retired, In 1996 he was ranked 4th in the world at the 5000 meters. He once held the American record in the 3000 meters (7:30.84), 2 miles (8:11.59) and the 5000 meters (12:58.21). He was the first ever non-African to run the 5000 meters in less than thirteen minutes, and he is still one of only seven non-Africans to do so. Joshua Harris (born September 9, 1982) is a former American football quarterback. College career During his two years as a starter at Bowling Green State University, he led the Falcons to consecutive finishes in the top 25 nationally. During his senior season, he led the Falcons to a victory over Northwestern University in the Motor City Bowl. Harris finished his college career as the school leader in rushing touchdowns (43), and is third in passing yards (7,503) and passing touchdowns. Jeff Davidson (born October 3, 1967) is an American football coach who most recently served as the offensive line coach for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL) and is also a former player. Westerville Central High School is a public high school located in Westerville, Ohio, northeast of Columbus. It is the newest of three high schools in the Westerville City School District. It opened in August 2003. History Westerville experienced a population boom in the late 1990s, particularly in Genoa Township in the northern part of the school district. In order to keep up with the growth, the district announced that it would build two new elementary schools and a third high school. Westerville was the second Greater Columbus school district to build a third high school. The district asked taxpayers to pay for part for the new buildings. A taser is an electroshock weapon used to incapacitate people, allowing them to be approached and handled in an unresisting and thus safe manner. It is sold by Axon, formerly TASER International. It fires two small barbed darts intended to puncture the skin and remain attached to the target, at . Their range extends from for non-Law Enforcement Tasers to for LE Tasers.
