Andrew Howard Western (born 18 March 1985) is a British Labour Party politician who was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) for Stretford and Urmston at the 2022 by-election. He had been the leader of Trafford Council since 2018, a post he vacated upon his election to parliament. Early life Western was born at Wythenshawe Hospital to Denise Western (née Firth) and Howard Western and grew up in Timperley. Anne Western (born 27 December 1955) is a Labour Party politician and former Leader of Derbyshire County Council. Career Derbyshire County Council Western represents the Barlborough and Clowne division on Derbyshire County Council. Barlborough is in Bolsover District, a traditionally Labour-voting area. She was first elected to Derbyshire County Council in 1997. She was Deputy Leader of the council from 2004-09. In the 2005 elections, her seat was uncontested. Joel Western (born 12 October 2002) is an Australian rules football player who plays for the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A member of Fremantle's Next Generation Academy (NGA), as his mother was born in Singapore, Western was drafted with the 54th selection in the 2020 national draft, when Fremantle matched the Western Bulldogs's bid. John Stuart Western (16 March 1931 – 6 January 2011) was an Australian academic and author. He received his B.A. and M.A. and his Diploma of Social Studies from the University of Melbourne, and his Ph.D from Columbia University in 1959. In 1966, along with Colin A.
