The West Virginia Wing of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the highest echelon of Civil Air Patrol in the state of West Virginia. West Virginia Wing headquarters are located in Charleston, West Virginia. The West Virginia Wing consists of over 600 cadet and adult members at over 12 locations across the state of West Virginia. Mission The Civil Air Patrol has three primary missions: providing emergency services; offering cadet programs for youth; and providing aerospace education for CAP members and the general public. West Virginia Air National Guard
The West Virginia Air National Guard (WV ANG) is the aerial militia of the State of West Virginia, United States of America. It is, along with the West Virginia Army National Guard, an element of the West Virginia National Guard, and is also closely associated with the United States Air Force. As state militia units, the units in the West Virginia Air National Guard are not in the normal United States Air Force chain of command. These awards are all worn in the form of medals or ribbons and all are considered civilian decorations. Danville is a town in Boone County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 660 at the 2020 census. Danville was incorporated in 1911 and named for Dan Rock, the town's first postmaster. Tyndall Air Force Base is a United States Air Force Base located east of Panama City, Florida. The base was named in honor of World War I pilot 1st Lt. Frank Benjamin Tyndall. The base operating unit and host wing is the 325th Fighter Wing (325 FW) of the Air Combat Command (ACC). The base had a resident population of 2,994 at the 2010 census.
