West Vancouver Police Department
The West Vancouver Police Department (WVPD) is the municipal police force for the district of West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Operations The West Vancouver Police respond to calls for service using one of four patrol platoons. Each patrol platoon is staffed by several constables, a corporal (road supervisor), and with oversight from a duty sergeant. In addition, a police canine handler and their police dog complement each patrol platoon. The patrol division is augmented by several support sections including; traffic; community policing / school liaisons; information services sections, and a victims' services unit operated by volunteers. Serious crimes are investigated by detectives in the general investigation section. Homicides that occur in the District of West Vancouver are investigated by the integrated homicide investigation team which is supplemented by a seconded WVPD member. Mike Farnworth
Michael C. Farnworth (born July 23, 1959) is a Canadian politician who has served as the 15th and current deputy premier of British Columbia since 2021, and the minister of public safety and solicitor general since 2017. West Vancouver is a district municipality in the province of British Columbia, Canada. A member municipality of the Metro Vancouver Regional District, West Vancouver is to the northwest of the city of Vancouver on the northern side of English Bay and the southeast shore of Howe Sound, and is adjoined by the District of North Vancouver to its east. Kash P. Heed (Kashmir Singh Heed) (born November 1955) is a former Canadians, Canadian politician, who was elected as a BC Liberal Member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the 2009 British Columbia general election, 2009 provincial election, representing the riding of Vancouver-Fraserview. He formerly served as the Executive Council of British Columbia, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General. The Delta Police Department (DPD) is the police force for the City of Delta, British Columbia, a suburban community in Metro Vancouver with a population of 102,661. As of 2019, the Delta Police Department has an authorized strength of 194 sworn members and 72 civilian support staff, and an operating budget of $35,981,000. In 2007, the DPD became responsible for policing the Tsawwassen First Nation through an agreement between the nation and the provincial and federal government. Under the ''Tsawwassen First Nation Final Agreement Act'', the First Nation does not have the power to establish a police force on their own, but are able to do so by requesting the minister of public safety and solicitor general.
