West Torrens Cricket Club
The West Torrens District Cricket Club ("Western Eagles") is a Premier Grade Cricket Club in Adelaide, South Australia. It competes in the West End Premier Cricket Competition, which is administered by the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA). The Western Eagles field four senior men’s, two women’s and seven junior teams and are based at Henley & Grange Memorial Oval. Other grounds used by the club include Henley High School, John Mitchell Reserve and Lockleys North PS. Previous home grounds have included Lindsay Circus (1857-1921), Thebarton Oval (1921-1988) and Kings Reserve (1988-1997). The club has won 15 1st grade men's premierships with the last being in 2021/22, breaking a 5-year premiership drought. In an amazing 2006/07 season, the Eagles fought off a merger ultimatum from the SACA and became the first ever South Australian Premier club to record a clean sweep of the 2-day, one-day and T20 competition titles. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Brad Young (cricketer)
Bradley Evan Young (born 23 February 1973) is an Australian former cricketer. A left-arm orthodox spinner who was also an aggressive lower order right hand batsman, Young played six One Day Internationals for Australia in the 1998/99 period. Young was selected for Australia at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, taking a hat trick against New Zealand and winning a silver medal after losing to South Africa in the final. Young's final match for Australia ended after he slid into the fence trying to prevent a boundary and needed to be carried from the Sydney Cricket Ground in considerable pain after injuring his leg. South Australian Grade Cricket Clubs

Don Bradman
Sir Donald George Bradman, (27 August 1908 – 25 February 2001), nicknamed "The Don", was an Australian international cricketer, widely acknowledged as the greatest batsman of all time. Bob Hank
Robert William "Bob" Hank (19 June 1923 – 14 June 2012) grew up in and lived in Lockleys and was an Australian rules footballer who played for West Torrens in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Career Hank began his senior playing career with the wartime combination of West Torrens–Port Adelaide in 1944. He then moved to West Torrens the next year when the official SANFL competition resumed, featuring prominently in the centre in Torrens' winning Grand Final side that triumphed that year over their former wartime partners Port Adelaide. Hank's brilliant start to his career continued in 1946 with the first of back-to-back Magarey Medals – the SANFL's highest individual award for the "fairest and most brilliant" player. Australian Football Hall Of Fame
The Australian Football Hall of Fame was established in 1996, the Centenary year of the Australian Football League, to help recognise the contributions made to the sport of Australian rules football by players, umpires, media personalities, coaches and administrators. Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the laws of the game. Originally known as the Victorian Football League (VFL), it was founded in 1896 as a breakaway competition from the Victorian Football Association (VFA), with its inaugural season commencing the following year. Dan Cullen
Daniel James Cullen (born 10 April 1984) is a former Australian first-class cricketer who played for South Australia and Somerset in a career that lasted from 2004 to 2009. He was a right-arm off break bowler who appeared six times for Australia, and was touted as a promising prospect to replace Shane Warne. However, a number of unproductive seasons meant that he lost his national contract in 2008, and was dropped by South Australia in 2010, ending his first-class career. He first appeared for South Australia in 2004, and after two strong seasons for South Australia, he was selected to tour Bangladesh with the national team in April 2006. Peter George (cricketer)
Peter Robert George (born 16 October 1986) is an Australian Test cricketer. A right-arm fast-medium bowler, George plays his first-class cricket for the Queensland Bulls. Profile George, who was born at Woodville, South Australia, gained a rookie contract with the state side in 2005/06 but lost it the very next season. He regained a contract in the 2008/09 season. He made his Test cricket debut for Australia in the second Test against India at Bangalore. He is one of the tallest players in Australian domestic cricket with a height of 203 cm. Pune Warriors
Pune Warriors India were a franchise Twenty20 cricket team that represented the city of Pune in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team was one of two IPL franchises from the Indian state of Maharashtra, the other being Mumbai Indians. Callum Ferguson
Callum James Ferguson (born 21 November 1984) is a former Australian cricketer and commentator who has represented Australia in all three forms of international cricket. He also represented South Australia in the JLT One-Day Cup. He was formerly the captain of the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League before being released at the end of the 2020–21 season Ferguson began his domestic career in the 2004–05 season, and by 2009 his form in limited overs cricket was good enough for him to be selected by the Australian national cricket team. Tim Nielsen
Timothy John Nielsen (born 5 May 1968) is a former South Australia state cricketer and formerly the head coach of the Australian cricket team.
