West Ruislip
West Ruislip is a station on Ickenham High Road on the borders of Ickenham and western Ruislip in the London Borough of Hillingdon in Greater London, formerly in Middlesex. It is served by London Underground (LU) and National Rail trains on independent platforms. It is the western terminus of the Central line's West Ruislip branch; Ruislip Gardens is the next Underground station towards central London. The Central line and Chiltern Railways platforms and ticket office hall are managed by LU. The closest station on the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines is Ickenham, from West Ruislip Station. Harefield Road was a proposed London Underground station on the western branch of the Central line beyond its current terminus at West Ruislip. Under the London Passenger Transport Board's 1935–1940 New Works programme, the station would have been built alongside the existing Great Western and Great Central Joint Railway (GW&GCJR) line between West Ruislip and Denham as the penultimate station on the Central line's extension from North Acton. Denham railway station is a railway station in the village of Denham in Buckinghamshire, England. It is on the Chiltern Main Line between West Ruislip and . History The station was built just north of Denham village as part of the Great Western and Great Central Joint Railway. It opened on 2 April 1906 as Denham for Harefield. The original station layout had four roads: two for non-stop trains, and two with platforms for stopping services. There was a small goods yard north of the line, and a signal box at the London end of the "down" platform. South Ruislip is a station served by London Underground and Chiltern Railways in South Ruislip in North-West London. The station is owned, managed and staffed by London Underground. The station is in Travelcard Zone 5. History The GWR/GCR Joint line to High Wycombe carried services from both Paddington and Marylebone. In common with all London transport authorities from 1933 to 2000, the public name and brand was London Transport.
