WestCom (full name: WestCom Neue Medien Tonträger- Produktions- und Vertriebs GmbH) was a German recording company that operated the labels Off Beat, Visage Records and other labels. Company history Founded around 1993. In addition to WestCom, its owner also operates NovaTekk and Euromedia. Headquartered in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. In 1999 Stefan Herwig, A&R manager at Off Beat, left the company over differences in promotion, to join forces with Eskil Simonsson (Covenant), Johan Van Roy (Suicide Commando), Bryan Erickson (Velvet Acid Christ) and Ronan Harris (VNV Nation) to form a new label, dependent (which opened January 1999). Project Pitchfork
Project Pitchfork is a German dark wave, electronic rock group from Hamburg, Germany. History First years (1990–1994) Project Pitchfork was formed by Peter Spilles and Dirk Scheuber. After agreeing to work together, they picked the project's name by choosing a random word from the dictionary. The band gave their first performance in Hamburg in February 1990 and released their demo, ''K.N.K.A'', in August. In May 1991, their debut album ''Dhyani'' was released. The band's second album, ''Lam-'Bras'' was released in February 1992 and yielded the first vocal appearance of Patrica Nigiani. Six months later, the band's third album, ''Entities'' was released. The band switched labels to Off Beat for their 1994 release ''Io''. The album featured two singles, "Renascence" and "Carrion", and marked the first time the band entered the German Charts. Hard Wired
''Hard Wired'' is the eighth full-length studio album by Front Line Assembly, released in 1995. Release ''Hard Wired'' was the band's first release for Off Beat. It has sold at least 50,000 copies worldwide. The limited edition with 5,000 copies was sold out in two weeks. Coinciding with Front Line Assembly's tour through Europe in support of '' Improvised Electronic Device'', ''Hard Wired'' was re-released in August 2011 by German label Black Rain Records as limited edition picture vinyl with a circulation of 500. It contains only seven songs and lacks the tracks "Mortal", "Modus Operandi" and "Transparent Species". On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of ''Hard Wired'' in 2015, Canadian label Artoffact released a limited box set vinyl edition of the album with a circulation of 300 that included the ''Live Wired'' live album and the ''Circuitry'' single, all of which were remastered by Bill Leeb and Greg Reely. SPV GmbH (short for ''Schallplatten Produktion und Vertrieb GmbH'', "Vinyl Production and Distribution Company") is a German independent record label. Founded on 1 January 1984, it has slowly grown to be one of the largest independent distributors and record labels worldwide. Mentallo And The Fixer
Mentallo and the Fixer (sometimes written as Mentallo & the Fixer) is the project name used by Texan electro-industrial musicians Gary Dassing (Mentallo) and Dwayne Dassing (The Fixer) from 1988 to 1999, and by Gary Dassing alone from 1999 to the present day. The band has several releases on the American record label, Metropolis Records. They are named after two Marvel Comics characters. Biography The Dassing brothers first began experimenting with music by the means of more traditional rock music instruments, such as guitar and drums. However, by the time the two formed their first band Benestrophe with vocalist Richard Mendez, the instruments of choice became synthesizers and samplers. Memento Materia is a Swedish record label focusing on synth-, electro- and futurepop, although it also released some EBM in the 1990s. Its first release was in January 1992, and the label had put out 87 releases (according to its official numbering scheme). Re-Constriction Records was a division of Cargo Music based in California. The label was founded in 1992 and headed by Chase, who was previously the Music Director at KCR, a student radio station on the campus of San Diego State University. They specialized in releasing bands belonging to the industrial, aggrotech and EBM genres. After the label folded, Chase went to work for Access Communications where he worked for 14 years doing video game-related public relations, including helping to launch Twitch in 2011. In May 2013, he took a staff job at Twitch overseeing all of their PR efforts. In 2019, he left Twitch and shortly thereafter joined StreamElements. Skinny Puppy is a Canadian industrial music group formed in Vancouver in 1982. The group is among the founders of the industrial rock and electro-industrial genres. Initially envisioned as an experimental side-project by cEvin Key (Kevin Crompton) while he was in the new wave band Images in Vogue, Skinny Puppy evolved into a full-time project with the addition of vocalist Nivek Ogre (Kevin Ogilvie).
