Wesley College of Science (founded as Wesley College on November 5, 1905) is a government controlled, co-educational, senior secondary school located in Ibadan, Oyo State. The school was previously called "''Wesley College"'', a teacher training institution that churned out the likes of famous politician, elder statesman of repute, and the First Western Premier in the First Republic, Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Currently known as Wesley College of Science, it educates senior secondary school science students in preparation for West African Senior School Certificate Examination, Senior School Certificate Examinations. According to ''Naij.com'', it is the 6th oldest List of schools in Nigeria, secondary school in Nigeria. Methodism, also called the Methodist movement, is a group of historically related denominations of Protestant Christianity whose origins, doctrine and practice derive from the life and teachings of John Wesley. George Whitefield and John's brother Charles Wesley were also significant early leaders in the movement. They were named ''Methodists'' for "the methodical way in which they carried out their Christian faith". Methodism originated as a revival movement within the 18th-century Church of England and became a separate denomination after Wesley's death.
