Wer Bist Du
Wer bist du? ("Who are you?") is the first full-length album by German industrial metal band Megaherz, following the limited edition release of their first album, ''Herzwerk''. The album includes three songs from ''Herzwerk'': "Krone der Schöpfung" (originally a two-part song, here a single track), "Negativ", and "Hänschenklein 1995" (remade as "Hänschenklein Siebenundneunzig"). The first track, " Gott sein", is one of Megaherz's most famous, and considers the problems of being God, culminating in the refrain "Es ist nicht leicht ein Gott zu sein" ("It's not easy to be a god"). The penultimate track, "Hänschenklein Siebenundneunzig", is based on a German nursery rhyme Hänschen klein, in which Hänschen klein (which translates most closely as "Little Hans") leaves home, causing his mother great grief. Megaherz
Megaherz (English "Mega-heart", a pun on the homophone " megahertz") is a German Neue Deutsche Härte band formed in Eichenau in 1993. Megaherz has gone through many changes in musical style since their founding. Their early works are a fairly dark alternative metal, comparable to 1990s American bands such as Faith No More, whereas recent works are comparable to bands such as Oomph! and Rammstein. Their early albums all include at least one song based on a classic German fairy tale, including " Hänschen klein" ("Little Hans") on '' Herzwerk'', "Rapunzel" on ''Kopfschuss'', "Windkind" ("Wind Child") on ''Himmelfahrt'', and "I.M Rumpelstilzchen" on ''Herzwerk II''. Neue Deutsche Härte
Neue Deutsche Härte (; "new German hardness"), sometimes abbreviated as NDH, is a subgenre of rock music that developed in Germany and Austria during the early-to-mid 1990s and during the early 2000s. Alluding to the style of Neue Deutsche Welle, the term was coined by the music press after the 1995 release of the German rock and metal band Rammstein's first studio album ''Herzeleid''. Characteristics Neue Deutsche Härte describes a crossover style that is influenced by Neue Deutsche Welle, alternative metal and groove metal combining it with elements from electro-industrial and techno. The lyrics are generally in German. NDH uses the basic setup of instruments for metal: electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals, along with keyboard, synthesizers, samples and sometimes additional percussion. ZYX Music GmbH & Co. KG is a German record label that was founded in 1971 by Bernhard Mikulski. It is one of the most successful German record labels of the 1980s and 1990s. Until 1992, the label's name was Pop-Import Bernhard Mikulski. The label specialized in disco, early house music and 1990s techno. Founder Bernhard Mikulski is credited with coining the term "Italo disco" in the 1980s. After the death of Bernhard, his wife Christa Mikulski took over in 1997. ''Kopfschuss'' (English: "Headshot") is the second full-length studio album by German industrial metal band Megaherz. It was released in July 1998 via ZYX Music. The album features a cover of a Falco song, "Rock Me Amadeus", and continued Megaherz's tradition of having one song per album based on a fairy tale with the track "Rappunzel", which alludes to the story of the same name. The track "Freiflug" re-uses lyrics from the song "Spring in die Schlucht" from the Herzwerk album. The opening track, "Liebestöter", brought the album most of its popularity abroad. The album was re-released in the US in 2005 as ''II'' (read as "Two" or "Zwei"), with the handgun removed from the album art. The resulting effect appears as if the clown is reaching for a fist bump. Industrial metal is the fusion of heavy metal and industrial music, typically employing repeating metal guitar riffs, sampling, synthesizer or sequencer lines, and distorted vocals. Hänschen Klein
"" (Little Hans, 1899) by (1821–1882) is a German folk song that originated in the Biedermeier period (1815–1848) of German history in the 19th century, and later became a nursery song in the early 20th century. Background The folk-song lyrics of ''Hänschen klein'' tell of a boy who ventures from home into the world, and returns as a man to his family. In 1900, an abridged version of ''Hänschen klein'' became a nursery song for children to sing in kindergarten. Hans is a boy who leaves home for the world, but seven years later returns to hearth and home. Little Hans leaving home left his mother bereft until his return. Drum Solo
A drum solo is an instrumental solo played on a drum kit. A drum solo may be set or improvised, and of any length, up to being the main performance. In rock, drum solos are unique in that traditionally they are minimally or never accompanied, whereas other instruments may play solos accompanied or unaccompanied. They are also typically free-form in that they do not necessarily adhere to the tempo, style or structure of the song they accompany.
