Wendy Carlin
Wendy Joan Carlin, (born 1957) is a professor of economics at University College London, expert advisor to the Office for Budget Responsibility, and research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. Her research focuses on macroeconomics, institutions and economic performance, and the economics of transition. Early life and education Carlin was born in 1957, her father Brian Frederick Carlin was an agricultural scientist. Carlin completed her undergraduate education at Murdoch University, Australia in 1978. She then went on to study for a master's degree and PhD at the University of Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship, finishing in 1987. Her thesis was entitled ''The development of the factor distribution of income and profitability in West Germany, 1945-1973'' and was supervised by Andrea Boltho. The UCL Department of Economics is one of nine Departments and Institutes within the UCL Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences, Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences at University College London. Brain Cancer
A brain tumor occurs when abnormal cells form within the brain. There are two main types of tumors: malignant tumors and benign (non-cancerous) tumors. These can be further classified as primary tumors, which start within the brain, and secondary tumors, which most commonly have spread from tumors located outside the brain, known as brain metastasis tumors. All types of brain tumors may produce symptoms that vary depending on the size of the tumor and the part of the brain that is involved. Where symptoms exist, they may include headaches, seizures, problems with vision, vomiting and mental changes. Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. David William Soskice, FBA (born 6 July 1942) is a British political economist and academic. He is currently the LSE School Professor of Political Science and Economics at the London School of Economics. Early life and education Soskice was born as son of the British Labour Home Secretary Frank Soskice and his wife Susan Isabella Cloudsley Soskice (née Hunter) in London. The Royal Economic Society (RES) is a professional association that promotes the study of economic science in academia, government service, banking, industry, and public affairs. Originally established in 1890 as the British Economic Association, it was incorporated by royal charter on December 2, 1902.
