Wendell P. Jones
Wendell Phillips Jones (November 25, 1866 – September 29, 1944) was a Canadian politician who was a member of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick and Mayor of Woodstock, New Brunswick. Jones was born on November 25, 1866, to Gertrude (Raymond) and Randolph K. Jones. In 1888 he married Grace Jordan. They had ten children, one of whom, Charles J. Jones, also served as mayor of Woodstock. From 1903 to 1908, Jones represented Carleton County in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick. From 1905 to 1908 he was Solicitor General in the governments of Lemuel J. Tweedie, William Pugsley, and Clifford W. Robinson. Jones also served as the Secretary-Treasurer of Carleton County and from 1913 to 1914 was the Mayor of Woodstock. In 1930, Jones returned to politics as leader of the New Brunswick Liberal Association. The Liberals lost the 1930 general election and Jones failed to win a seat in the legislature. Woodstock, New Brunswick
Woodstock is a town in Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada on the Saint John River, 103 km upriver from Fredericton at the mouth of the Meduxnekeag River. It is near the Canada–United States border and Houlton, Maine and the intersection of Interstate 95 and the Trans-Canada Highway making it a transportation hub. It is also a service centre for the potato industry and for more than 26,000 people in the nearby communities of Hartland, Florenceville-Bristol, Centreville, Bath, Meductic, and Canterbury for shopping, employment and entertainment. The New Brunswick Liberal Association (french: Association libérale du Nouveau-Brunswick), more popularly known as the New Brunswick Liberal ''Party'' or Liberal Party of New Brunswick, is one of the two major provincial political parties in New Brunswick, Canada. The party descended from both the Confederation Party and the Anti-Confederation Party whose members split into left-wing and right-wing groups following the creation of Canada as a nation in 1867. The current political organization emerged in the 1880s to serve as an organization housing the supporters of Premier Andrew G. Blair and, later, federal Liberal Party of Canada leader Wilfrid Laurier. Today, the New Brunswick Liberal Party follows the centre-left tradition. James Kidd Flemming
James Kidd Flemming (April 27, 1868 – February 10, 1927) was a businessman and politician in New Brunswick, Canada. Flemming was a school teacher and lumberman before entering politics and serving as Provincial Secretary-Treasurer from 1908 to 1911 and Minister of Lands and Mines from 1911 to 1914. He succeeded Douglas Hazen as the Premier of New Brunswick in 1911. In the June 1912 general election, Flemming led his provincial party to the biggest electoral victory in its history. In addition to two independent Conservative seats, the Conservative Party captured 42 of the province's 46 seats. Under Flemming, the French language was used for the first time in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick. He represented Carleton County, New Brunswick, Carleton County in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1903 to 1908, from 1915 to 1920 and from 1925 to 1930 as a Conservative Party of New Brunswick, Conservative member. Allison Dysart
Albert Allison Dysart (March 22, 1880 – December 8, 1962) was a New Brunswick politician, lawyer and judge. Dysart was born in Cocagne, New Brunswick and was educated at University of St. Joseph's College in Memramcook, the Ontario Agricultural College and Dalhousie Law School. He was called to the bar in 1913 and set up practice in Bouctouche. He was elected to the provincial legislature in 1917 and served as Speaker from 1921 to 1925 and served briefly as Minister of Lands and Mines in 1925 until the defeat of the Liberal government. In 1926, Dysart succeeded Peter J. Veniot as leader of the Liberal party. In 1935 the Liberals returned to power and Dysart became the 22nd premier of New Brunswick.
