The Wembley Wizards is the nickname for the Scotland national football team that crushed England national football team, England 5–1 at Wembley Stadium (1923), Wembley in the 1928 British Home Championship. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional association football, football clubs from England and Wales. Alexander Lambie (15 April 1897 – 26 February 1963) was a Scottish footballer who played as a centre half. Career Club Although he began his career with Ayrshire teams including Kilmarnock, Lambie featured primarily for Glasgow club Partick Thistle where he spent a decade (all in the top division), making 325 appearances for the ''Jags'' in all competitions and scoring 17 goals, having been brought in during 1921 as a replacement for Willie Hamilton, the regular of the past decade who had died of tuberculosis. Willie McStay (footballer Born 1890)
William McStay (21 June 1892 – 3 September 1960) was a Scottish international footballer who played as a fullback. Club career McStay began his senior career when he joined Celtic from Larkhall Thistle in 1912, although he was immediately loaned to Ayr United, spending the following four seasons with the Somerset Park club. Having helped Celtic to the Scottish Football League title in 1917, He had further spells away from Celtic Park during the latter years of the First World War, assisting local sides Distillery and Belfast Celtic while conscripted to the North Irish Horse unit, before re-establishing himself in the Celtic first team which won the title again 1919 and 1922. Douglas Herbert Gray (4 April 1905 – 1972) was a Scottish footballer who spent his entire senior career with Rangers and is the longest serving player in the Glasgow club's history. Career Club Born in Alford, Aberdeenshire, Gray joined the Ibrox club from Aberdeen Mugiemoss in June 1925. A right back, he played for the club 555 times in competitive matches between 1925 and 1946, earning ten league championship and six Scottish Cup winner's medals.
