Wellington Saci
Wellington Aleixo dos Santos (born 5 January 1985), known as Wellington Saci, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a left back for Joinville. He is named after the folk creature Saci, a one-legged black leprechaun of sorts. Biography Born in Belém, Pará, Wellington Saci started his career at Ananindeua, signed a 1-year contract. He then played for Extrema and Vênus before signed by Remo in May 2007. In January 2008 he was signed by Itumbiara. Corinthians and loans In May he left for Corinthians, with Itumbiara retained 50% economic rights. An investor "Fair Play Sports" also owned 15%, made Corinthians only 35%. He costed Corinthians R$ 624,000. He won the second division and promoted back to top division. In July 2009 he moved to Atlético Mineiro in 1-year contract. The 2010 Copa Sudamericana de Clubes (officially the 2010 Copa Nissan Sudamericana de Clubes for sponsorship reasons) was the 9th edition of CONMEBOL's secondary international club tournament. 2008 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, namely the second level of Brazilian football league system, was contested by 20 teams in 2008. Giants Corinthians played Série B for the first time after its poor season in Série A in 2007. Also, former Série A champions Bahia returned from Série C. The tournament started on May 9 and Corinthians begun defeating CRB 3-2 in São Paulo. Due to its tradition and huge number of supporters, Corinthians attracted most of the attention from the media. The club won the first six matches and never left the top of the table. Promotion came on round 32 - six matches before the end of season - after defeating Ceará 2-0 in São Paulo. They were crowned champions two rounds later, beating Criciúma 2-0 as visitors. Avaí was the second team to reach Série A as they defeated Brasiliense 1-0 on Round 35. Saci (Brazilian Folklore)
Saci ( ) is a character in Brazilian folklore. He is a one-legged black man, who smokes a pipe and wears a magical red cap that enables him to disappear and reappear wherever he wishes (usually in the middle of a Dirt devil). Considered an annoying prankster in most parts of Brazil, and a potentially dangerous and malicious creature in others, he nevertheless grants wishes to anyone who manages to trap him or steal his magic cap. However, his cap is often depicted as having a bad smell. Most people who claimed to have stolen this cap say they can never wash the smell away. The legend says that a person can trap a Saci inside a bottle when he is in the form of a dust devil.
