Weldon Gentry
Weldon Christopher "Spot" Gentry (September 9, 1906 – March 19, 1990) was an American football player. He played college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks football, Arkansas Razorbacks and Oklahoma Sooners football, Oklahoma Sooners and professional football for the Providence Steam Roller and Philadelphia Eagles. Early years Gentry was born in 1906 near Lawton, Oklahoma, Lawton, then in the Oklahoma Indian Territory. He attended Lawton High School. He played college football for Arkansas Razorbacks football, Arkansas in 1925 and 1926 and for Oklahoma Sooners football, Oklahoma from 1927 to 1929. In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking.
