Welcome To The Club (The Simpsons)
''Welcome to the Club'' is an American animated short film based on the television series ''The Simpsons'' produced by Gracie Films and 20th Television Animation, debuting on the streaming service Disney+ on September 8, 2022, and received mixed reviews from critics. Like the previous shorts, it was directed by David Silverman. Plot Lisa and Bart approach a castle, and Lisa is excited to become an officially recognized Disney Princess. However, Bart turns out to have been a disguise by Loki to trick Lisa into instead joining forces with the Disney Villains. A musical number is performed by many classic Disney villains, such as Ursula, Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, Queen of Hearts, Maleficent, Evil Queen (in her witch form), Jafar, Hades, Scar and Kaa alongside several Disney prince characters, to try and convince Lisa to become a Disney villain. David Silverman (animator)
David Silverman (born March 15, 1957) is an American animator who has directed numerous episodes of the animated TV series ''The Simpsons'', as well as its film adaptation. Silverman was involved with the series from the very beginning, animating all of the original short ''Simpsons'' cartoons that aired on ''The Tracey Ullman Show.'' He went on to serve as director of animation for several years. He also did the animation for the 2016 film ''The Edge of Seventeen,'' which was produced by Gracie Films. Early life and career Silverman was born to a Jewish family on Long Island, New York. His father, Joseph Silverman, was a chemical engineering professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, for over 30 years. He grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, and attended the University of Maryland for two years, focusing on art. He then attended UCLA and majored in animation. Bartholomew JoJo "Bart" Simpson is a fictional character in the American animated television series ''The Simpsons'' and part of the Simpson family. He is voiced by Nancy Cartwright and first appeared on television in ''The Tracey Ullman Show'' short " Good Night" on April 19, 1987. Cartoonist Matt Groening created and designed Bart while waiting in the lobby of James L. Brooks' office. Groening had been called to pitch a series of shorts based on his comic strip, ''Life in Hell'', but instead decided to create a new set of characters. While the rest of the characters were named after Groening's family members, Bart's name is an anagram of the word ''brat''. Kaa is a fictional character from ''The Jungle Book'' stories written by Rudyard Kipling. He is a giant snake who is 30 feet long. In the books and many of the screen adaptations, Kaa is an ally of main protagonist Mowgli, acting as a friend and trusted mentor or father figure alongside Bagheera and Baloo. However, Disney's screen adaptations portray him as a secondary antagonist who attempts to eat Mowgli. Scar is a fictional lion and the main antagonist in The Walt Disney Company, Disney's The Lion King (franchise), ''The Lion King'' franchise. Jafar (Aladdin)
Jafar is a fictional character and the main antagonist in Walt Disney Pictures' 31st animated feature film ''Aladdin'' (1992). He is voiced by American actor Jonathan Freeman, who also portrayed the character in the Broadway musical adaptation. Jafar also appears in the 1994 sequel to ''Aladdin'', but he is not in the 1996 third film or the TV series. The Evil Queen, also known as the Wicked Queen, Queen Grimhilde, or just the Queen, is a fictional character who appears as the main antagonist in Walt Disney Productions' first animated feature film '' Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'' (1937) and remains a villain character in their extended ''Snow White'' franchise. She is based on the Evil Queen character from the 1812 German fairy tale "Snow White". Maleficent
Maleficent ( or ) is a fictional character who appears as the main antagonist in Walt Disney Productions' 16th animated feature film, ''Sleeping Beauty'' (1959). She is represented as an evil fairy and the self-proclaimed " Mistress of All Evil" who, after not being invited to a christening, curses the infant Princess Aurora to "prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die" before the sun sets on Aurora's sixteenth birthday. The Queen of Hearts is a fictional character and the main antagonist in the 1865 book ''Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'' by Lewis Carroll. Captain James Hook is a fictional character and the main antagonist of J. M. Barrie's 1904 play ''Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up'' and its various adaptations, in which he is Peter Pan's archenemy. The character is a pirate captain of the brig ''Jolly Roger.''
