''Welcome to Poppy's'' is the fourth studio album by American rap rock band Fun Lovin' Criminals. It was released on September 9, 2003 through Sanctuary Records. Recording sessions took place at The Magic Shop in New York. Production was handled by the band themselves. The album debuted at number 20 on the UK Albums Chart, number 15 on the Scottish Albums Chart and number 4 on the UK Independent Albums Chart. It also made it to number 88 on the Dutch Album Top 100. Its lead single, "Too Hot", peaked at number 61 on the UK Singles Chart and number 9 on the UK Independent Singles Chart. The second single off of the album, "Beautiful", reached number 41 on the UK Independent Singles Chart. The song "Lost It All" was released as a promotional single between the two. Fun Lovin' Criminals
Fun Lovin' Criminals are an American rap rock band from New York City. They are best known for their hit "Scooby Snacks", which features samples from films by Quentin Tarantino, and the song "Love Unlimited", which recalls Barry White's backing vocal group. Their songs often focus on life in New York City, as well as urban life in general. Their lyrics can be gritty or existentialist in nature, touching on topics such as organized crime and urban violence, but they are just as often humorous or satirical. The band gained a large following internationally, notably in Northwest Europe, around the release of their first two albums in the late 1990s. George Marino
George Marino (April 15, 1947 – June 4, 2012) was an American mastering engineer known for working on albums by rock bands starting in the late 1960s. Biography Marino was born on April 15, 1947, in the New York City borough The Bronx. He attended Christopher Columbus High School there and learned to play the saxophone and bass fiddle in the high school band and was classically trained on guitar. Marino broke into the music business as a guitarist playing rock and roll in local New York City bands such as The Chancellors and The New Sounds Ltd. until most of the band members were drafted into the service for the war in Vietnam. In 1967, Marino landed his first job in the industry as a librarian and assistant at Capitol Studios. Timothy Kneeland "Timo" Ellis is a multi-instrumentalist and record producer from New York City, and is frontman vocalist for the band Netherlands. In 1997 Ellis and Sean Lennon joined Cibo Matto. As a quartet (Yuka Honda, Miho Hatori, Ellis, Lennon) Cibo Matto released an EP, ''Super Relax ''Super Relax'' is an EP by Cibo Matto released in 1997. Frank Benbini
Frank Benbini (born Mark Francis Reid, 21 September 1976 in Leicester, England) is the British drummer and one third of Fun Lovin' Criminals (FLC). He is also known as Uncle Frank and TRM which stands for "The Rhythm Man". Benbini is a singer, record producer, songwriter and director. Benbini joined FLC as their drummer in May 2003although he had known the band for many years previously (their first meeting was at Rock City in Nottingham in 1996)after having worked for a while as Mackie's technician. Along with drumming, Benbini also provides backing vocals to tracks on FLC's more recent albums and when performing live with the FLC. Benbini is also one half of the Make It Nice Brothers with Naim Cortazzi (a multi instrumentalist and producer).
