Weightlifting At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's 53 Kg
The women's 53 kilograms weightlifting event was the second-lightest women's event at the weightlifting competition, limiting competitors to a maximum of 53 kilograms of body mass. The whole competition took place on August 10 at 15:30. This event was the second Weightlifting event to conclude. Each lifter performed in both the snatch and clean and jerk lifts, with the final score being the sum of the lifter's best result in each. The athlete received three attempts in each of the two lifts; the score for the lift was the heaviest weight successfully lifted. Stanozolol (Abbreviation, abbrev. Stz), sold under many brand names, is an androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) medication derived from dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Nastassia Novikava ( be, Настасся Новікава) (born 16 November 1981 in Zhodzina, Byelorussian SSR) is a world championship winning weightlifter from Belarus. Judith Chacón
Judith Andrea Chacón Ozuriaga (January 29, 1986October 27, 2009) was a Venezuelan weightlifter. Chacon represented Venezuela at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed for the women's featherweight category (53 kg). Chacon placed last out of nine weightlifters in this event, as she successfully lifted 80 kg in the single-motion snatch, and hoisted 101 kg in the two-part, shoulder-to-overhead clean and jerk, for a total of 181 kg. Her performance in weightlifting was also a top finish for Venezuela at these games. Shortly after the Olympics, she had briefly retired from weightlifting because of pregnancy. Melanie Roach (née Kosoff; born December 15, 1974 in The Dalles, Oregon) is an Olympic weightlifter for the United States. She lives in Bonney Lake, Washington where she owns Roach Gymnastics, Inc. During high school, Melanie participated in gymnastics, but dislocated her shoulder. After reconstructive surgery, she slowly became interested in weightlifting. She started training in 1994 once meeting coach John Thrush at Calpian Weightlifting Club. By 1998 she was number one in the US, and set the world record, since bested, for the women's clean & jerk by lifting more than twice her weight, 113 kg/250 lbs. She is 5'2" and 117 lbs.
