Andreas Behm
Andreas Behm (28 November 1962 – 27 December 2021) was a German weightlifter. Behm competed at the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics in the lightweight category and finished in third and tenth place, respectively. Between 1981 and 1993 he won two gold, three silver and six bronze medals at European and world championships. On 7 July 1984, he set three world records, one in clean & jerk and two in the total. He competed until age 36 and then worked as a coach. He died from a heart attack on 27 December 2021, at the age of 59. His son Robby is also a weightlifter. Waldemar Malak
Waldemar Malak (July 17, 1970 in Gdańsk – November 13, 1992) was a weightlifter from Poland. He represented his native country at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, where he received the bronze medal in the first heavyweight category of weightlifting. Tymur Taymazov (Russian/ ua, Тимур Таймазов, os, Таймазты Барисы фырт Тимур, born 8 September 1970) is a former Ossetian-Ukrainian weightlifter, Olympic champion and two time World Champion. He was born in Nogir, North Ossetia. Taymazov has a younger brother, Artur, who was also 2004 Olympic Champion in freestyle wrestling 120 kg weight category, but had gold medals for 2008 and 2012 withdrawn for doping offences. Jon Chol-ho (born 7 April 1969) is a North Korean former weightlifter, who competed in the middleweight class and represented North Korea at international competitions. Ibragim Berkmanovich Samadov (''Ибрагим Беркманович Самадов'') born July 18, 1968 in Pervomayskaya, Chechenskaya Respublika, USSR is a former Olympic weightlifter. In transition at the end of the Soviet Union, he represented the Unified Team at the 1992 Olympics in the 82.5 kg division. Samadov was the gold medalist at the 1991 World Weightlifting Championships, representing the Soviet Union with his superior clean and jerk evening his total weight with teammate Oleksandr Blyshchyk. In 1992, Altymyrat Orazdurdyýew was the favorite, but was not selected for the Unified Team by coach and Russian national hero Vasily Alekseyev because Orazdurdiyev was from Turkmenistan, while Samadov was from Russia. Pyrros Dimas ( el, Πύρρος Δήμας; ; born 13 October 1971) is a Greek politician and former weightlifter. He is currently the technical director for USA Weightlifting, having taken that position in June 2017. Dimas has also been involved in politics as a member of the Hellenic Parliament, representing the Panhellenic Socialist Movement from 2012 to 2015. Dimas is the most decorated Greek athlete in the Olympics and is widely considered one of the greatest weightlifters of all time, having been three times Olympic Gold Medalist (in his fourth Olympiad, a knee injury notwithstanding, he won the bronze medal), and three times World Champion.
